Role Overview
We are looking for a Business Development Manager who can independently own the entire client acquisition lifecycle — from qualifying inbound leads to closing deals — without pulling our development or marketing teams into early-stage sales conversations.
This is a hybrid sales + solutions consulting role. You will be the first point of contact for every prospect, the technical voice in scoping discussions, and the closer who turns qualified leads into signed clients. Key Responsibilities
Lead Management & Qualification
- Take ownership of all inbound leads generated through marketing channels (website, ads, social media, referrals)
- Qualify leads using BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline) and prioritize the pipeline accordingly
- Maintain a clean, updated CRM with accurate stage tracking and follow-up cadence
Discovery & Solutioning
- Conduct discovery calls with prospects to understand business objectives, technical requirements, and project scope
- Translate client needs into clear technical solutions across web, mobile, blockchain, AI, and digital marketing
- Provide preliminary estimates of timelines, team composition, and indicative costs without involving the delivery team
- Demo relevant past work and case studies confidently to build credibility
Proposal & Closure
- Draft detailed proposals, SOWs, and commercial offers tailored to each prospect
- Negotiate pricing, scope, and terms while protecting project profitability
- Close deals and ensure smooth handover to the delivery team with a complete client brief
Pipeline & Reporting
- Maintain a healthy pipeline that supports monthly revenue targets
- Provide weekly forecasts and pipeline reviews to the founder
- Identify trends in lost deals and recommend improvements to pricing, positioning, or service offerings
Account Expansion
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts (e.g., adding digital marketing retainers to web development clients)
- Build long-term relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals
What We're Looking For
Must-Have
- 2 to 5 years of experience in B2B sales within IT services, software development, or digital marketing agencies
- Proven track record of closing deals end-to-end — from first call to signed contract
- Working understanding of modern tech stacks: frontend (React, Next.js), backend (Node.js, Python), and mobile (React Native, Flutter)
- Ability to scope projects technically — discuss timelines, team size, and ballpark costs without needing a developer in the room
- Strong written English for proposal writing and email communication
- Confident verbal communication for discovery and negotiation calls (English mandatory; Hindi/Bengali a plus)
- Comfortable selling to both Indian and international clients
Good-to-Have
- Background as a developer who transitioned into sales, or an engineering degree with a sales career
- Conceptual familiarity with Blockchain & Web3, AI & Machine Learning, or Cloud & DevOps — enough to hold a high-level conversation with a prospect
- Experience selling Digital Marketing services (SEO, SEM, Social Media retainers)
- Exposure to international sales cycles, NDAs, and IP-assignment contracts
- Familiarity with proposal tools (PandaDoc, Better Proposals) and outreach tools (Apollo, Lemlist, LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
