About Us
We are a group of young and enthusiastic engineers, domain experts providing turnkey solutions to challenging requirements in Signal Processing. We work on leading technologies in Signal Processing solving problems in Defence and Aerospace fields. Our solutions range from tactical radios to radars, and from research to mission critical applications.
about the role
As a Senior RF Hardware Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the architecture, design, simulation, implementation, bring-up, and verification of RF and microwave hardware subsystems for aerospace and defence applications.
The role includes RF signal-chain design from antenna port to baseband, including LNAs, PAs, mixers, filters, RF switches, attenuators, PLLs, frequency synthesizers, clock/LO distribution, and wideband RF front-end modules operating up to 40 GHz. The engineer will translate system-level requirements into circuit-level specifications and support the complete hardware development cycle from concept to qualification and production support.
Responsibilities
Circuit Design & Analysis
- Design and optimize RF/microwave circuits and subsystems, including LNAs, PAs, mixers, filters, RF switches, attenuators, VCOs, PLLs, frequency synthesizers, clock/LO distribution circuits, and RF front-end modules up to 40 GHz.
- Perform RF system and circuit-level analysis, including link budget, cascaded gain/noise figure, IP2/IP3, P1dB, dynamic range, SFDR, phase noise, jitter, LO leakage, image rejection, harmonic/spurious analysis, EVM, and emissions performance.
- Develop and execute RF simulation models using tools such as Keysight ADS, AWR Microwave Office, Ansys HFSS, CST Studio, or equivalent tools for linear, nonlinear, EM, and system-level co-simulation.
- Select and qualify active/passive RF components and design with GaN/GaAs/SiGe/CMOS RFIC/MMIC devices.
- Define component derating, worst-case analysis, lifecycle risk, alternate part strategy, and reliability considerations for high-reliability aerospace and defence hardware.
- Translate system-level requirements such as frequency range, sensitivity, output power, EVM, phase noise, isolation, spur level, and dynamic range into verifiable RF circuit and subsystem specifications.
Systems Architecture & Integration
- Contribute to RF subsystem architecture trade studies and module-level implementation planning.
- Lead antenna-to-baseband RF signal-chain design for radar, EW, telemetry, tactical radio, SDR, wideband receiver, and up/down-converter applications.
- Work with system engineers to allocate RF performance budgets and cascade gain, noise figure, linearity, filtering, isolation, and dynamic range from antenna port to ADC/DAC interface.
- Define LO and clock architecture, including reference clock distribution, PLL/synthesizer selection, phase noise budgeting, spur management, synchronization, and frequency settling requirements.
- Guide and review RF PCB layout, including stack-up selection, controlled impedance routing, RF via transitions, grounding, return-current paths, shielding, cavity isolation, connector transitions, and mixed-signal partitioning.
- Support mechanical and thermal integration, including RF shielding, heat sinking, enclosure effects, RF cable/connector selection, vibration considerations, and high-power PA thermal design.
- Support integration with FPGA, firmware, embedded software, and DSP teams from the RF hardware side, including AGC, DPD, calibration, JESD204/LVDS interfaces, timing, synchronization, and hardware control interfaces.
Product Development & Qualification
- Define and execute RF test plans covering conducted and radiated measurements, including S-parameters, gain, gain flatness, return loss, output power, P1dB, IP3, noise figure, phase noise, EVM, ACLR/ACPR, harmonic/spurious emissions, receiver sensitivity, blocking, isolation, and EMI/EMC pre-compliance.
- Perform prototype bring-up, lab debugging, tuning, rework support, failure analysis, oscillation/debug, spur hunting, desense investigation, thermal drift analysis, and simulation-to-measurement correlation.
- Support design readiness and qualification activities for MIL-STD-461 EMC and MIL-STD-810 environmental requirements.
- Support production transfer, including DFM/DFT review, BOM alternate qualification, test fixture definition, production test procedures, and yield/debug support.
- Maintain design documentation, including schematics, RF PCB specifications, simulation reports, test procedures, test reports, analysis reports, interface control documents, compliance matrices, and verification evidence.
- Prepare and present PDR/CDR material, technical status, risk items, and design trade-off summaries to program managers, internal teams, and external customers.
