Experience

5–10 Years (Pharmaceutical Industry Preferred)

Qualification

CA Inter / CMA Inter / CMA / MBA (Finance) / M.Com

Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, costing, and commercial finance

Job Summary

The Product Costing Sr. Executive / Assistant Manager will be responsible for product cost analysis, standard costing, profitability assessment, inventory valuation, and financial support for business decisions. The role involves close coordination with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial teams to ensure accurate product costing and margin optimization across domestic and export markets.

Key Responsibilities

Product Costing & Analysis

Prepare and maintain standard product costing for formulations, APIs, and contract manufacturing products.

Analyze Bill of Materials (BOM), manufacturing processes, and cost structures.

Perform product-wise cost estimation for new product launches, tenders, and business development opportunities.

Monitor and evaluate material, labor, overhead, and conversion costs.

Conduct periodic cost reviews and identify cost optimization opportunities.

Financial Planning & Profitability

Conduct product profitability and margin analysis by SKU, customer, market, and business segment.

Support pricing decisions through detailed cost and profitability analysis.

Evaluate the financial impact of changes in raw material prices, manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements.

Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and annual operating plans related to manufacturing costs.

Inventory & Manufacturing Cost Control

Ensure accurate inventory valuation in compliance with accounting standards.

Analyze inventory variances, production variances, and cost absorption.

Monitor manufacturing efficiencies and identify cost-saving initiatives.

Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to costing and inventory.

Commercial Finance Support

Provide costing support for tenders, government supplies, exports, and institutional business.

Collaborate with Business Development and Marketing teams for pricing proposals.

Review transfer pricing and inter-company costing where applicable.

Support management with financial models and business case evaluations.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOPs, and financial policies.

Prepare periodic MIS reports related to product costs, margins, inventory, and manufacturing performance.

Support internal and external audits by providing costing-related data and analyses.

Maintain costing records and documentation for regulatory and audit requirements.
