About the organisation
Kalike - An associate organization of Tata Trusts is focusing on ensuring quality education to the rural and deprived children in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Followed with successful engagement in education, Kalike overlaid their services with Livelihood, Early Childhood Development (ECD), WASH, Skill Development interventions as a matrix approach to have better impact in the over quality of life among the people of Yadgir. As the initiatives plans to make long term investments towards improving quality of education, ranging from pre-school to high school education, health, livelihood, WASH and skill development, as part of an end to end approach over a period of time. It is, envisaged that such focused engagement would: (a) have visible impact on quality of life for most deprived communities; and (b) provide insights in systemic reform that will have potential to inform the policy.
About the program
The program is committed to strengthening Early Childhood Education (ECE) through a system led approach. We work closely with the ICDS, currently supporting large-scale intervention in eight districts of Karnataka and two districts of Meghalaya. The core components include curriculum, capacity building, resource creation and fostering community engagement. We strive for innovation and pragmatism to enable the low-resource settings like anganwadis to improve its functionality.
Position Title: Faculty and Trainer – ECE
Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka (travel required)
Reporting to: Program Head- ECD
Position Summary
The Faculty and Trainer will play a key role in designing and delivering high-quality training and capacity-building initiatives under the ECE program. The position involves developing training modules and learning resources, conducting trainings for program team and ICDS functionaries, mentoring fellows, supporting research and assessment activities, and contributing to program innovation and documentation. The role requires strong expertise in Early Childhood Education, training methodologies, mentoring, and field-based implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Training and Capacity Building
Design and facilitate training programs for ICDS functionaries, including CDPOs, Supervisors, Anganwadi workers and related stakeholders.
Conduct orientation and capacity-building sessions for program staff and fellows.
Develop training calendars, session plans, facilitation guides, and assessment tools.
Provide ongoing mentoring, coaching, and field support to fellows and program teams.
Ensure effective use of participatory and experiential learning methodologies during trainings.
Module and Content Development
Develop ECE training modules, manuals, facilitator guides, and resource materials.
Review and adapt existing educational content based on program needs and contextual requirements.
Create communication and learning materials for children, caregivers, communities, and frontline workers.
Support the development of innovative, contextualized, and technology-enabled educational resources.
Adapt content based on field learnings, assessments, and program needs.
Mentoring and Academic Support
Mentor fellows through regular review meetings, field observations, and reflective learning processes.
Support fellows in planning, implementation, documentation, and problem-solving.
Guide fellows in developing training strategies, activity plans, and community engagement approaches.
Documentation and Reporting
Prepare training reports, field documentation, case studies, and knowledge products.
Support preparation of program presentations, donor reports, and technical documents.
Maintain records related to training participation, assessments, and mentoring activities.
Research, Assessment, and Innovation
Participate in assessments, monitoring exercises, and research studies undertaken by the program.
Support data collection, analysis, and interpretation for program improvement.
Contribute innovative ideas and approaches to strengthen ECE practices and outreach.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Postgraduate degree in any of the following or related disciplines:
Education
Early Childhood Education
Child Development
Social Work
Psychology
Related fields
Experience
Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience in training, mentoring, module development, or education/community development programs.
Prior experience working with ICDS systems and government stakeholders will be preferred.
Experience in training facilitation and mentoring is mandatory.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong conceptual understanding of Early Childhood Education and child development.
Proven experience in module development, training facilitation, and mentoring.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English and Hindi.
Knowledge of Kannada will be an added advantage.
Strong documentation and analytical skills.
Basic computer skills including MS Office, presentations, spreadsheets, and digital documentation tools.
Interest in integrating technology into learning and training processes.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and communities.
Willingness to travel for trainings, mentoring visits, and field engagements.

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
