About the Role

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Jewellery Designer with 2–5 years of experience in designing contemporary and timeless jewellery collections for a leading jewellery brand. The ideal candidate should possess strong design sensibilities, trend awareness, technical knowledge of jewellery manufacturing, and the ability to translate concepts into commercially successful designs.

The candidate will work closely with the merchandising, production, sourcing, and marketing teams to develop innovative collections aligned with brand aesthetics and market trends.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Concept Development

Create original jewellery designs across categories including rings, earrings, necklaces, bangles, bracelets, bridal jewellery, and contemporary collections.
Develop seasonal and trend-based collections aligned with brand identity and customer preferences.
Research global fashion, luxury, and jewellery trends to create innovative concepts.
Prepare mood boards, concept presentations, sketches, and design stories for new collections.
Interpret customer insights and market demands into commercially viable products.

Technical Design & CAD Coordination

Create detailed hand sketches and technical drawings for production.
Work closely with CAD designers and production teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
Understand stone settings, metal finishes, casting processes, and jewellery construction techniques.
Review prototypes and suggest modifications for aesthetics, comfort, quality, and cost optimization.
Ensure all designs meet quality, wearability, and production standards.

Product Development

Coordinate with sourcing and merchandising teams for gemstone, metal, and material selection.
Participate in sample development and approval processes.
Maintain design libraries, catalogues, and product documentation.
Ensure timely completion of collections within deadlines.

Trend & Market Research

Analyze competitor collections, customer buying patterns, and fashion trends.
Stay updated with emerging jewellery styles, techniques, and luxury consumer preferences.
Visit exhibitions, trade fairs, and vendor markets when required.

Collaboration & Communication

Work cross-functionally with production, branding, retail, and marketing teams.
Support photoshoots, campaigns, and product launches with design inputs.
Present concepts and collection ideas to internal stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Jewellery Design, Accessory Design, Fashion Design, or related field from a reputed institute.

Experience

2–5 years of experience in jewellery design, preferably with a luxury, fine jewellery, or premium fashion jewellery brand.

Technical Skills

Strong sketching and illustration skills.
Knowledge of CAD software such as Rhino, Matrix, JewelCAD, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
Understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes and gemstone applications.
Knowledge of metal types, finishes, diamond grading, and stone settings.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or CorelDRAW is an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Passionate about luxury, craftsmanship, and fashion trends.
Strong portfolio showcasing original jewellery concepts and collections.
Ability to balance creativity with commercial viability.
Experience in bridal, fine jewellery, or contemporary jewellery collections is preferred.
