This role is part of a strategic initiative to expand our internal electronics and embedded engineering capability at our Hosur facility. The objective is to improve execution capacity across multiple concurrent development programs, strengthen local engineering support, and build the foundation for future connected and IoT-enabled product platforms.
Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on IoT / Firmware Engineer to support the development, enhancement, and production of electronics-enabled water treatment products. This is an Individual Contributor (IC) role focused on embedded systems, controller development, PCB troubleshooting, firmware support, and electronics integration across both new product development and manufacturing activities.
The role will contribute to current and next-generation products including water dispensers, RO systems, filtration systems, UV-C controllers, and connected devices. The ideal candidate combines practical embedded engineering skills with a strong execution mindset and is comfortable working across prototypes, supplier coordination, production support, and cross-functional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Embedded Systems & Electronics Development
- Review existing PCBs and identify opportunities for product improvements, reliability enhancements, and functionality upgrades.
- Support electronics development activities for second-generation Q Tap systems.
- Assist in reverse engineering existing controller boards and support development of next-generation PCB solutions.
- Support embedded control system development, debugging, validation, and implementation across multiple product platforms.
- Coordinate firmware activities to ensure successful implementation of product requirements.
HMI & Display Development
- Investigate and resolve display-related issues within HMI systems.
- Improve LED visibility and brightness performance.
- Develop and support touch-to-wake display functionality and user interaction logic.
- Evaluate TFT and cross-platform display technologies for future applications.
- Support integration and validation of HMI interfaces across various products.
Product Development & Controller Support
- Support PCB and electronics activities for dispensing and filtration product platforms, including Touch, SmartTap, and HydreauBar systems.
- Support controller development involving pumps, relays, sensors, solenoids, and safety functions.
- Contribute to control logic development for automated product functions, flushing systems, and reset mechanisms.
- Support development of in-house timer and controller solutions for product-specific applications.
- Collaborate with component suppliers to customize and improve controller functionality where required.
IoT & Connected Product Support
- Support development of connected devices and future smart product initiatives.
- Assist with embedded electronics integration involving sensors, communication modules, and connectivity solutions.
- Contribute toward scalable connectivity architectures applicable across multiple product categories.
- Coordinate with software, firmware, and external development partners to ensure seamless product integration.
- Support products involving mobile applications and cloud-connected functionality.
Manufacturing & Vendor Coordination
- Work closely with local PCBA vendors and component suppliers on prototypes, troubleshooting, validation, and production support.
- Support manufacturing teams during electronics integration, testing, debugging, and production readiness activities.
- Participate in pilot builds, engineering validation, and root-cause investigations.
- Ensure smooth transfer of electronics designs from development into production.
Execution & Capability Building
- Provide day-to-day engineering support across multiple electronics-related development programs.
- Improve responsiveness and strengthen internal engineering capability for ongoing projects.
- Support overlapping product development activities while maintaining high execution standards.
- Contribute to building India's long-term capability in embedded systems, electronics, and connected product development.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in embedded systems, electronics product development, or controller-based products.
- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and embedded platforms such as Arduino, ESP32, or similar.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming for embedded applications.
- Practical experience in PCB troubleshooting, circuit debugging, and electronics testing.
- Familiarity with controllers, sensors, relays, pumps, solenoids, displays, and HMI interfaces.
- Comfortable working with prototypes, validation activities, and production-related technical issues.
- Ability to support both product development and factory operations.
- Good communication and coordination skills when working with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Good English communication skills are preferred due to collaboration with Taiwan and other global teams.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to IoT architectures and connected product ecosystems.
- Experience with ESP32-class firmware development and wireless communication technologies.
- Familiarity with BLE, Wi-Fi, UART, SPI, and I2C communication protocols.
- Experience supporting mobile app integration or cloud-connected products.
- Background in consumer appliances, water treatment products, filtration systems, or controller-based electro-mechanical equipment.
