The Role Overview
We are looking for a Communication Design Lead — someone who sits at the intersection of visual craft, brand strategy, and systems thinking. This is not a purely executional role; it is an ownership role. You will be the single point of accountability for how iDream Education looks, sounds, and feels across every touchpoint — from a government presentation deck to an Instagram reel, from a field-use data report to a donor impact brief.
You will work closely with a cross-functional team of content writers, video creators, and visual designers, and will serve as the bridge between creative output and business intent. You will also be the person who keeps iDream ahead of the curve — experimenting with and mainstreaming AI-powered design tools to raise the quality and velocity of our communication.

Core Responsibilities

Brand & Communication Governance:Own and enforce iDream Education's communication guidelines (covering visual design, tone of voice, typography, colour, and layout) across all internal and external materials.

Conduct regular audits of output from across the team to ensure on-brand consistency.

Build and maintain a living brand and communication playbook that evolves with the organisation.

Cross-Channel Distribution & Analytics:Own the end-to-end distribution strategy for communication assets across touchpoints: social media, email, print, presentations, website, partner decks, and event collateral.

Track performance of communication across channels, derive insights, and feed those insights back into content and design decisions.

Move the team from intuition-driven to evidence-informed creative choices.

Team Coordination & Creative Direction:Act as the conductor for an orchestra comprising content writers, video creators, and visual designers. Set the creative brief, review output, provide structured feedback, and ensure timely delivery without compromising on quality.

Create systems, templates, and reusable assets that allow the team to execute at high speed without starting from scratch each time.

AI-First Design Workflow: Champion the integration of AI tools — Figma AI, Claude, Canva AI, Adobe Firefly, and other emerging platforms — into the day-to-day design and communication workflow. Identify bottlenecks where AI can compress timelines or raise quality, experiment with new tools proactively, and train the team on workflows that stick.
Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: 5–7 years in communication design, brand management, or creative direction, with demonstrable ownership of a brand's visual and verbal identity.

Portfolio: A strong portfolio showing range — long-form documents, social-first design, presentation decks, and ideally some video or motion work. The portfolio should show systems thinking, not just individual execution.

Sector Context: Experience in EdTech, the Development sector, or mission-driven B2B/B2G environments is a strong advantage. An understanding of communicating with government, NGO, or CSR audiences will set you apart.

Tool Proficiency: Expert-level in Figma. Comfortable with the Adobe suite. Familiarity with basic video editing and motion principles is a plus.

AI Fluency: You use LLMs and AI design tools not as a novelty but as a daily productivity layer. You know how to prompt, iterate, and integrate AI output into a professional-grade creative workflow.

Analytical Sensibility: Comfortable reading performance data from social and email platforms, and translating that data into actionable creative decisions.
