Overview
To make Azure the best place for running Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads across open-source software (OSS) and custom stacks, the team is driving advancements in AI and contributing to the design and development of next-generation Azure infrastructure for AI workloads.
The Azure Core team in India is seeking highly skilled and motivated engineers to build and manage advanced Azure infrastructure elements that support innovative AI workloads for training, inferencing, fine-tuning, and big data scenarios. Areas of work include enabling customers with AI lifecycle foundation tools, big data frameworks, confidential computation, and collaboration frameworks, along with building full-stack Azure services across management, control, and data planes. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering comprehensive software solutions and architectural strategies that leverage high-performance computing and networking technologies to optimize and enhance our AI infrastructure. Efforts involve broad adoption of open-source technologies.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure Architecture: Design and develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure tailored for AI workloads, ensuring efficient resource utilization and low-latency communications.

Offer technical guidance and leadership in cloud infrastructure technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure best practices in infrastructure design, execution, and optimization.

Performance Optimization: Assess and refine performance continuously by identifying and resolving bottlenecks across compute, storage, and networking domains.

Research and Innovation: Remain informed on emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends, evaluating their applicability and recommending adoption where beneficial to AI infrastructure enhancements.

Collaboration and Communication: Engage with customers and collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to clarify requirements, provide expert guidance, and effectively communicate complex concepts.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
