Role #1: Platform Lead (India Lead – Senior)

Role Summary
The Platform Lead serves as the
primary India-based senior engineering counterpart to the Boeing platform engineering team. This role is critical to maintaining real-time collaboration across time zones, eliminating latency in decision-making, and ensuring continuous momentum across a fixed-price, milestone-driven engagement.
The role owns
cluster-level platform engineering and infrastructure build-out, while also leading knowledge transfer, governance, and platform maturity across all delivery phases.
Key Responsibilities
1. Real-Time Engineering Leadership & Collaboration

Maintain 6-hour overlap (Mon/Tue/Thu, 6:00–11:00 AM PST) with Boeing India team
-
Serve as primary decision-making authority during overlap hours
-
Pair daily with Boeing engineers for:
- Debugging and troubleshooting
-
Design validation
-
Hands-on knowledge transfer
-
Eliminate cross-timezone delays by resolving blockers in-session
2. Phase 2 – Platform Build (Primary Ownership)
Own the
cluster-level infrastructure and foundation platform track, including:
Kubernetes & Cloud Infrastructure

AKS cluster provisioning in Azure Government/EIC environments
-
Cluster configuration: networking, node pools, policy enforcement
Terraform Engineering
-
Design and implement production-grade Terraform modules
-
Manage:
- State architecture (remote state, locking)
-
Workspace strategies
-
Modularized infrastructure patterns
Platform Core Capabilities

DNS automation for delegated zones
-
IAM/RBAC model design & implementation
-
Cluster lifecycle management (upgrade, patching, drift detection)
GitOps Enablement
-
ArgoCD pipeline architecture and deployment
-
Standardized GitOps workflows and repo design
Golden Path Enablement
-
Define and implement developer onboarding templates
-
Align platform patterns with developer experience goals
3. Phase 3 – Platform Maturity & Transition

Expand policy-as-code coverage (OPA, Kyverno)
-
Support Operational Readiness Assessment (ORA)
-
Lead formal Knowledge Transfer Program, covering:
- Cluster provisioning

Control plane operations
-
Upgrade procedures
-
GitOps workflows
-
Ensure all artifacts are:
- Production-ready
-
Documented
-
Handover-complete
4. Governance & Co-Delivery Model

Co-author all deliverables with Boeing India FTEs

Enforce alignment with:
- Foundational repo structures (Phase 1)

Security and compliance standards
-
Ensure adherence to:
- Fixed milestone timeline

Engineering quality benchmarks
Required Skills & Experience
Core Experience

7+ years in platform engineering / cloud infrastructure

Strong enterprise experience in regulated/government environments
Technical Expertise

Kubernetes (AKS preferred, EKS acceptable)

Terraform (advanced level):
- Module design

State management

Enterprise governance patterns

GitOps tools (ArgoCD preferred, Flux acceptable)

CI/CD pipelines (GitLab strongly preferred)
