Project Role Description : Develop custom software solutions to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. Use modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs.

Role: Senior Jira Administrator (Jira Server & Jira Cloud)
Experience: 5+ Years

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Jira Administrator (Server & Cloud) with 5+ years of hands-on expertise in building, configuring, administering, and optimizing Jira environments from scratch.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in:
End-to-end Jira setup (Server & Cloud)
Designing workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes
Custom field creation and automation
Groovy scripting (ScriptRunner preferred)
Environment migration (Test Production)
Backup & Restore operations
Linux system administration (for Jira Server environments)
This role requires both technical depth and platform ownership mindset, ensuring secure, scalable, and well-governed Jira implementations.
Roles & Responsibilities
Install, configure, and administer Jira Server/Data Center and Jira Cloud environments.
Build Jira instance from scratch including:
Project creation
Workflow design
Screen schemes
Field configurations
Permission schemes
Notification schemes
Design and implement scalable and maintainable Jira configurations aligned with business requirements.
Create and manage custom fields, custom screens, and field contexts.
Develop and maintain automation rules (Automation for Jira).
Implement Groovy scripts using ScriptRunner for advanced customization.
Design and manage migration process between environments (Dev/Test Production).
Perform Jira backup, restore, disaster recovery testing.
Troubleshoot performance issues, indexing issues, and application-level problems.
Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into Jira configurations.
Ensure governance, audit compliance, and access control best practices.
Provide L2/L3 support and mentor junior administrators.
Professional & Technical Skills

Jira Administration (5+ Years)
Hands-on experience in Jira Server / Data Center
Hands-on experience in Jira Cloud Administration
Deep knowledge of:
Workflows
Workflow conditions, validators, post-functions
Permission schemes
Notification schemes
Issue security schemes
Screen schemes & field configuration schemes
Experience creating and managing custom fields with context optimization.
Experience designing approval workflows and complex multi-stage transitions.
Strong knowledge of Jira project types (Company-managed / Team-managed).
Automation & Scripting
Experience with Automation for Jira
Ability to build rules such as
Send email when custom field created
Auto-assign based on conditions
Trigger actions based on field changes
Experience in Groovy scripting using ScriptRunner.
