Job Title: Purchase & Store Manager
Position Summary
The Purchase & Store Manager is responsible for overseeing procurement, inventory control, receiving, storage, and stock distribution for the taproom and kitchen operations. This role ensures uninterrupted availability of food, beverage, packaging, cleaning, and operational supplies while maintaining optimal inventory levels, minimising waste, and controlling costs. The Purchase & Store Manager works closely with kitchen, bar, finance, and operations teams to support efficient daily operations and profitability.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Vendor Management
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for food, beverages, packaging materials, cleaning supplies, and operational consumables.
- Obtain competitive quotations and ensure procurement aligns with approved budgets and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply and favourable commercial terms.
- Monitor vendor performance, including quality, pricing, delivery timelines, and service levels.
- Identify alternative suppliers and contingency sourcing options when required.
Inventory & Store Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems and manual controls where necessary.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate timely replenishment to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Implement and enforce FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) practices.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and reconcile variances.
- Monitor shelf life, expiry dates, and storage conditions for all inventory items.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of all goods in accordance with food safety standards.
Receiving & Stock Control
- Verify all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and invoices.
- Inspect received goods for quantity, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams for acceptance or rejection of supplies.
- Maintain proper documentation for GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), stock transfers, returns, and adjustments.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Track food, beverage, and consumable costs against budgets and targets.
- Analyse consumption trends and recommend purchasing strategies to optimize inventory carrying costs.
- Generate regular reports on inventory levels, stock movements, slow-moving items, wastage, and procurement savings.
- Support monthly inventory closing and audits.
- Assist finance teams with invoice verification and payment reconciliation.
Compliance & Operational Standards
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and audit requirements.
- Maintain secure storage areas and safeguard inventory against theft, damage, and spoilage.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory and procurement activities.
Team Coordination
- Coordinate closely with chefs, kitchen supervisors, bar managers, and operations teams to forecast inventory requirements.
- Train store personnel on inventory handling, documentation, and storage best practices.
- Support operational planning for events, promotions, and seasonal demand fluctuations.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in purchasing, stores, inventory, or supply chain roles within restaurants, breweries, pubs, taprooms, hotels, or food service operations.
- Experience managing food, beverage, and operational inventory.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with food safety and storage standards.

Working Conditions
- Combination of office-based administration and on-floor store supervision.
- May require weekend, holiday, or extended-hour support during events and peak business periods.
- Regular handling of inventory inspections and stock verification activities.
Success in this role means maintaining uninterrupted operations, achieving high inventory accuracy, minimizing wastage, securing competitive procurement costs, and ensuring the taproom and kitchen have the right products available at the right time.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
