Role Overview:-
We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Shopify Developer to support Reitmans’ Shopify Enterprise ecosystem and related digital commerce initiatives. The developer will work closely with Reitmans’ internal technology, digital commerce, design, and business teams to support ongoing platform enhancements, backend customizations, integrations, troubleshooting, and agile sprint-based delivery.
This is a staff augmentation role where the selected resource will be integrated into Reitmans’ existing Scrum teams and delivery workflows. The role requires strong Shopify Enterprise expertise, full-stack development capability, and hands-on experience with TypeScript-based backend services and custom commerce integrations.
Key Responsibilities:-
The Senior Shopify Developer will be responsible for:

Providing dedicated full-stack Shopify Enterprise development and platform support.

Maintaining and enhancing existing Shopify storefront functionalities and platform capabilities.

Developing and maintaining custom backend services hosted in Azure.
-
Building and enhancing TypeScript-based applications, APIs, and middleware integrations.
-
Supporting custom functionalities implemented outside the Shopify core platform.

Working on Shopify theme enhancements and storefront customizations.
-
Supporting API integrations, middleware development, and third-party system integrations.
-
Assisting with checkout extensibility and customer experience optimization.

Troubleshooting technical issues, bugs, and production support items.

Supporting release management, deployment activities, and platform stability.

Participating in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and sprint delivery.

Collaborating with internal stakeholders, technology teams, business units, designers, and external partners as required.

Preparing technical documentation and implementation guidance when needed.
Required Skills & Experience:-
Must-have skills:
7+ years of overall software development experience.-
4+ years of hands-on Shopify / Shopify Plus / Shopify Enterprise experience.

Strong full-stack development experience.

Advanced experience with TypeScript.

Experience building and maintaining custom backend services.

Experience with Azure-hosted services, applications, or integrations.

Strong understanding of APIs, middleware, and enterprise system integrations.

Experience with Shopify theme development, storefront customization, and commerce workflows.

Ability to work on custom implementations outside Shopify’s core platform.

Experience supporting production environments, troubleshooting issues, and resolving defects.

Familiarity with agile Scrum delivery models.

Ability to work in EST-aligned hours and collaborate with North American stakeholders.

Working Model:-
The selected developer will work remotely from an offshore location while aligning with EST working hours to ensure strong overlap with Reitmans’ internal teams, Scrum ceremonies, stakeholder meetings, and delivery workflows.
The resource will be expected to integrate directly into Reitmans’ agile Scrum teams and participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and ongoing collaboration channels.
Ideal Candidate Profile:-
The ideal candidate is a senior engineer with 7+ years of software development experience and strong Shopify Enterprise expertise. They should be able to operate independently, communicate clearly with client-side stakeholders, and take ownership of assigned development work within an agile environment.
They should be comfortable working across Shopify storefronts, backend services, APIs, middleware, Azure-hosted custom commerce capabilities, and enterprise-grade digital commerce workflows.
