Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled BI Lead Developer / Data Analyst with 6+ years of experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying enterprise-grade business intelligence solutions. The role primarily focuses on building insightful and interactive Tableau dashboards, leading a team of BI developers, and partnering with business stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights.
The ideal candidate should have deep hands-on expertise in Tableau, SQL, Data Modeling, and Databricks, along with experience leading BI teams, translating business requirements into visualization solutions, and driving dashboard development from wireframing through production deployment. Prior experience in Power BI to Tableau migration projects is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- BI Dashboard Development
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and reporting solutions that support business decision-making.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and dashboard prototypes to align with stakeholder requirements and user experience expectations.
- Translate business requirements into scalable visualization solutions and actionable insights.
- Build reusable Tableau data models, calculations, parameters, filters, and dashboard frameworks.
- Optimize dashboard performance, usability, and scalability for enterprise-wide adoption.
- Develop and maintain dashboard documentation, standards, and best practices.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor a team of junior BI developers, providing technical guidance and ensuring delivery quality.
- Review dashboard designs, code, and development artifacts to maintain consistency and best practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize deliverables, and manage expectations.
- Communicate project complexity, effort estimates, risks, and development timelines to stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across BI development processes and reporting frameworks.
Data Analysis & Engineering Collaboration
- Work closely with data engineering teams to understand underlying data models and business logic.
- Validate dashboard outputs against Databricks data sources and ensure reporting accuracy.
- Understand complex SQL queries and Power BI DAX logic and convert them into Tableau calculations and visualizations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data consistency, governance, and reporting reliability.
- Support data quality initiatives and troubleshooting activities across BI platforms.
Required Skills
- Business Intelligence & Visualization
- Strong expertise in Tableau dashboard development, visualization design, and performance optimization.
- Experience creating wireframes, dashboard prototypes, and interactive reporting solutions.
- Strong understanding of data storytelling and dashboard usability principles.
Data & Analytics
- Advanced SQL skills for querying, transforming, and validating large datasets.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts including dimensional modeling and reporting schemas.
- Experience working with Databricks and modern cloud-based analytics platforms.
- Ability to understand and translate complex business logic into analytical solutions.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Experience leading and mentoring BI developers or analytics teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience leading Power BI to Tableau migration initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI and DAX.
- Experience working with enterprise-scale reporting and analytics environments.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms and modern data architectures.
- Strong understanding of dashboard testing, validation, and deployment processes.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Technologies & Tools
- 6+ years of experience in Tableau dashboard development, Business Intelligence, and Data Analytics.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Data Modeling, and Databricks.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring BI teams while delivering enterprise-scale reporting and analytics solutions.
- Experience in designing, wireframing, developing, testing, and deploying Tableau dashboards.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable reporting solutions.
- Experience with dashboard migration projects, preferably from Power BI to Tableau.
- Good understanding of Power BI and DAX is an added advantage.
