Senior 2D Game Artist (Characters, Environments & UI) – Stylized Cel-Shaded Game Art

Location: Remote (India)
Job Type: Full-Time (24-Month Contract)
Salary: ₹50,000 – ₹65,000 per month (Based on portfolio quality and test task performance)

About the Project

We are building a premium educational adventure game for children that combines immersive world-building, beautiful visual storytelling, and exceptional gameplay clarity.

This is not a typical mobile-game art role.

We are looking for an artist who can help shape an entire visual universe—from characters and environments to user interface elements—while maintaining absolute consistency across every asset in the game.

If you are passionate about creating magical worlds, understand visual depth and composition, and take pride in delivering polished, production-ready artwork, we would love to hear from you.

What You'll CreateCharacter Design

Main heroes and companion characters
Friendly enemies and creatures
Character expressions, poses, and gameplay assets
Consistent visual language across all characters

Environment & World Building

Beautiful side-scrolling game environments
Arctic, Jungle, Egypt, Orchard, Celestial, and Fantasy-themed worlds
Rich layered scenes with strong visual depth
Foreground, Midground, and Background composition for parallax movement

UI & Game Interface

Game buttons and interactive elements
Panels, menus, HUDs, and overlays
Custom keyboards and gameplay interfaces
UI that feels integrated into the game world rather than separate from it

Visual Consistency

Maintain a unified style across 20+ game scenes
Ensure all assets belong to the same visual universe
Create and follow a structured visual style guide

Required Artistic StyleCore Art Direction

Premium 2D stylized game art
Clean cel-shaded rendering
Soft painterly influence
High readability and strong silhouettes

Atmosphere

Technical Requirements

Photoshop, Affinity Designer, or equivalent
Ability to deliver organized layered source files
Experience preparing assets for game engines
Understanding of parallax-ready scene construction

Bonus Skills

Experience with Phaser.js games
Experience with Construct games
Animation experience
Experience creating style guides for larger projects

Deliverables

You will be responsible for delivering:

Production-ready game assets
Layered PSD source files
