Job Summary
VETOGEN Animal Health is seeking a highly organized and experienced Export & Import Logistics Manager to oversee and manage all international logistics operations related to the import and export of veterinary pharmaceuticals, animal health products, feed supplements, raw materials, packaging materials, and related products. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, optimizing logistics costs, maintaining timely shipments, and supporting the company's global business expansion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Export Operations Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute export shipments to international customers, distributors, and business partners.
- Manage export documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Bill of Lading, Air Waybills, and other regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, and airlines to ensure smooth export operations.
- Monitor export schedules and ensure timely delivery of products to international markets.
Import Operations Management
- Manage the import of raw materials, active ingredients, packaging materials, equipment, and other company requirements.
- Coordinate customs clearance activities and ensure timely receipt of imported goods.
- Verify import documentation and compliance with applicable government regulations.
- Track inbound shipments and resolve customs or transportation-related issues.
International Trade Compliance
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, DGFT requirements, and applicable import-export policies.
- Maintain accurate records of import and export transactions.
- Coordinate with regulatory and quality teams to ensure compliance with veterinary and pharmaceutical export requirements.
- Stay updated on changes in international trade regulations and logistics procedures.
Freight & Vendor Management
- Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with freight forwarders, shipping companies, airlines, and logistics providers.
- Evaluate and manage logistics vendors to ensure cost-effective and reliable services.
- Monitor vendor performance and implement corrective actions when required.
Supply Chain Coordination
- Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, and Sales departments to ensure seamless international operations.
- Support demand planning and inventory management for export and import activities.
- Coordinate shipment priorities based on business requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain complete records of shipment status, freight costs, customs duties, and logistics performance.
- Prepare periodic reports on export and import activities, logistics costs, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper filing and retention of shipping and customs documents for audit purposes.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to reduce freight costs, transit times, and operational inefficiencies.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve service levels and customer satisfaction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within international logistics operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Export-Import Management, International Trade, or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
Experience
- 4-7 years of experience in Export-Import Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain, or Freight Management.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, veterinary, animal health, healthcare, chemical, or FMCG industries is preferred.
- Strong experience in customs clearance, international shipping, and trade compliance.
Required Skills
- Thorough knowledge of international logistics and global trade regulations.
- Expertise in export-import documentation and customs procedures.
- Familiarity with Incoterms, Letter of Credit (LC), DGFT regulations, and international shipping practices.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, logistics software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple international shipments and deadlines effectively.
