Position Overview
Amity University Punjab invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Computer Science. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, mentoring students, conducting research, and contributing to academic and institutional development initiatives.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise, research aptitude, and a passion for teaching and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and student mentoring activities.
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Computer Science and related disciplines.
- Develop course content, lesson plans, assignments, and assessment methodologies.
- Employ modern teaching practices and technology-enabled learning tools.
- Evaluate student performance and provide academic guidance.

Research & Publications
- Conduct high-quality research in Computer Science and allied areas.
- Publish research papers in Scopus, SCI, Web of Science, ABDC, or UGC-CARE indexed journals.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Contribute to funded research projects, consultancy assignments, and innovation initiatives.
- Collaborate with industry and academic partners for interdisciplinary research.
Student Mentorship
- Guide students in projects, internships, dissertations, hackathons, and innovation challenges.
- Mentor students for placements, higher education, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
- Support student clubs, coding competitions, and technical events.
Institutional Responsibilities
- Participate in accreditation and ranking activities such as NBA, NAAC, NIRF, and QS initiatives.
- Contribute to curriculum development and academic quality assurance processes.
- Support departmental administration and university committees.
- Participate in Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, seminars, and conferences.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science / Computer Science & Engineering / Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Candidates who have submitted their thesis may also apply.
- Master's Degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- Consistently strong academic record.
Preferred Qualifications
- NET/SET qualification where applicable.
- Research publications in reputed indexed journals.
- Experience with modern programming frameworks, cloud platforms, and AI technologies.
- Exposure to Outcome-Based Education (OBE), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and digital teaching tools.
Desired Skills
- Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals and emerging technologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
- Research-oriented mindset and publication potential.
- Ability to mentor students and supervise academic projects.
- Proficiency in programming and computational problem-solving.

Experience
- Fresh Ph.D. graduates and thesis-submitted candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Prior teaching, research, or relevant industry experience will be preferred.
