Creativefuel
AI Developer
Location: On-site, Creative Fuel HQ
Type: Full-time | Experience: Skills over years
About the Role
Creativefuel is hiring an AI Developer to design, build, and ship AI-powered products and automations — both for our clients and for internal tools we run our business on. You will work end-to-end: from understanding the business problem, to picking the right model and stack, to deploying something people actually use.
We value builders. If you have shipped real things — even small ones — and can talk about what worked, what broke, and what you learned, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
● Translate business and creative workflows into reliable automations using tools like n8n, Make, and custom Python/Node scripts.
● Design and ship AI agents and LLM-powered features — chatbots, research assistants, content tools, internal copilots.
● Build full-stack products end-to-end: backend APIs, AI integration layer, and a usable frontend.
● Architect systems that work with AI but degrade gracefully without it. AI should be a feature, not a single point of failure.
● Evaluate and select the right models (proprietary APIs vs. open-source vs. fine-tuned) based on cost, latency, and quality.
● Prototype quickly, iterate based on user feedback, and ship to production.
● Collaborate with marketing, design, and content teams to translate ideas into working products.
What We're Looking For
● Hands-on with AI coding tools: active, daily user of tools like Claude (Claude Code), ChatGPT/Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar. You should be able to demonstrate how you use these tools to ship faster and write better code — not just generate snippets.
● Demonstrable portfolio: GitHub, deployed projects, or case studies that show what you've built.
● Strong AI fundamentals: practical understanding of LLMs, prompt design, RAG, embeddings, and when to use fine-tuning.
● Full-stack capability: comfortable across backend (Python/Node), frontend (React/Next.js), and basic deployment.
● Automation experience: hands-on with n8n, Make, Zapier, or custom scripting for workflow automation.
● Market awareness: you follow the AI product landscape and can discuss what's working, what's overhyped, and where opportunities exist.
● Bias for shipping: you favour working software over perfect software, and improve from there.
● Clear communication: able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Tools You'll Likely Use
OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-source LLMs · LangChain / LangGraph · n8n, Make · Python (FastAPI), Node.js · Next.js, React · PostgreSQL, Supabase, vector databases · Vercel, Docker.
You don't need every tool — depth in a few matters more than surface-level familiarity with all.
Why Join Creativefuel
● Ownership of projects end-to-end with minimal bureaucracy.
● Freedom to choose the right tools and stack for the job.
● Budget for APIs, tools, and learning resources.
● Direct collaboration with creative and business teams — your work reaches real audiences.
● Early role in our AI practice with room to shape its direction.
