Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Scientist – Sustainable Product Development to lead the research, design, development, and commercialization of environmentally responsible products and technologies. The role focuses on creating sustainable alternatives to conventional products by integrating principles of green chemistry, circular economy, renewable materials, resource efficiency, and lifecycle sustainability.
The ideal candidate will combine scientific expertise with product innovation to develop solutions that reduce environmental impact while maintaining performance, scalability, and commercial viability.
Key ResponsibilitiesResearch & Product Innovation
- Research and develop sustainable products, materials, and technologies for commercial and industrial applications.
- Identify opportunities to replace conventional materials with renewable, biodegradable, recycled, or low-carbon alternatives.
- Design and validate environmentally responsible products that meet performance, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct product feasibility studies and proof-of-concept development.
- Drive innovation projects from ideation through commercialization.
Material Development & Optimization
- Evaluate and develop sustainable raw materials, bio-based materials, recycled feedstocks, and eco-friendly formulations.
- Optimize product formulations to improve performance, durability, safety, and sustainability.
- Develop products with reduced environmental footprints across their lifecycle.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate sustainability into product design and manufacturing.
Sustainability Assessment
- Conduct Lifecycle Assessments (LCA) and environmental impact analyses.
- Assess carbon footprint, resource consumption, recyclability, biodegradability, and circularity metrics.
- Develop sustainability benchmarks and performance indicators.
- Identify opportunities for waste reduction, material efficiency, and energy optimization.
Product Testing & Validation
- Design and execute laboratory and pilot-scale testing programs.
- Evaluate product performance, safety, durability, environmental compatibility, and compliance.
- Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports.
- Support field trials, customer validation, and product certification processes.
Commercialization & Technology Transfer
- Support scale-up and manufacturing implementation of sustainable products.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, business development, and regulatory teams.
- Develop intellectual property, patents, and innovation disclosures.
- Contribute to market analysis, product strategy, and commercialization planning.
Collaboration & External Engagement
- Partner with academic institutions, industries, startups, government agencies, and sustainability organizations.
- Monitor emerging technologies, regulations, and sustainability trends.
- Participate in research grants, collaborative projects, and innovation programs.

Experience
- 2–8 years of experience in sustainable product development, materials innovation, environmental technologies, or industrial R&D.
- Experience in product development from concept to commercialization is preferred.
- Exceptional fresh Ph.D. graduates with relevant research experience may also apply.
