Production Shift In-ChargePosition Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Production Shift In-Charge to oversee and manage our daily production operations. The ideal candidate will ensure that production targets are met efficiently, safely, and within quality standards. While experience in modular furniture, woodworking, or panel processing is highly preferred, we welcome strong leaders from other manufacturing backgrounds who possess excellent floor management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Execution: Achieve daily and monthly shift production targets by effectively utilizing manpower, machinery, and materials.
- Floor Management: Supervise shop floor operations, monitor production lines, and ensure smooth workflow with minimal downtime.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain strict quality standards during the shift, identify defects early, and implement corrective actions.
- Manpower Allocation: Manage, motivate, and allocate duties to operators and helpers based on skills and daily schedules.
- Inventory & Material Management: Monitor raw material consumption, minimize wastage, and coordinate with the store team to ensure regular material availability.
- Machinery Maintenance: Coordinate with the maintenance department for routine preventive maintenance and minimize breakdowns.
- Safety & 5S: Enforce workplace safety protocols, ensure workers use PPEs, and strictly maintain 5S standards on the shop floor.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate daily production logs, shift handovers, and breakdown reports for management review.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 7 to 8 years of proven experience in manufacturing operations (preferably in modular furniture, woodworking, panel processing, or related industries).
- Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with manufacturing processes, machine operations, and production planning techniques. Knowledge of wood-processing machinery (Edge banders, CNC routers, Panel saws) is a major plus.
- Leadership: Strong supervisory and team-handling skills with the ability to manage a diverse shop floor workforce.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve line bottlenecks quickly.
- Shift Flexibility: Must be willing to work in rotational shifts.
