Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Python

Job Code: CUB/2026/SSE/009

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

Own and drive architectural decisions focusing on Event-Driven and Microservices architectures.
Establish engineering best practices, implement design patterns (Repository, Unit of Work), and lead code quality initiatives.
Conduct architectural reviews and comprehensive code reviews to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Backend & API Development

Build, scale, and maintain high-performance backend microservices using Python, FastAPI, and Pydantic.
Design efficient, robust APIs and implement asynchronous workflows and data models.
Manage data persistence and schema evolutions using PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, and Alembic.

Workflow Orchestration & Integration

Architect and implement resilient, activity-based workflow designs for long-running business process automations.
Build event streaming pipelines and messaging integrations utilizing Kafka.
Integrate enterprise systems and operational tooling, including ServiceNow and change management lifecycles.

Testing & Quality Assurance

Drive comprehensive automated testing suites utilizing Pytest to ensure high coverage and resilience.
Maintain dependency management and code formatting pipelines using Poetry and pre-commit hooks.

DevOps & Deployment

Containerize services using Docker and Docker Compose for seamless local and production environments.
Collaborate with DevOps to build CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and deployments using Helm Charts.

Team Mentoring & Collaboration

Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through technical training, code reviews, and architectural guidance.
Translate business and domain requirements into production-ready technical solutions.

Required Skills

5+ years of software development experience with Python.
Strong command over FastAPI, Pydantic, and asynchronous programming in Python.
Strong expertise in relational databases using PostgreSQL and ORM mapping with SQLAlchemy.
Deep hands-on experience with Event-Driven Architecture, Microservices, and robust API design.
Strong foundation in automated testing frameworks, especially Pytest.
Hands-on containerization experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
Proficiency with Git version control and code collaboration workflows.

Preferred Skills

Experience designing and managing workflows and long-running business process automation (e.g., Temporal Workflows).
Hands-on experience with event messaging using Apache Kafka.
Experience with database migration tools such as Alembic.
Familiarity with architectural design patterns such as Repository Pattern, Unit of Work Pattern, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
Experience with Helm Charts, CI/CD pipeline setup, and release automation.
Exposure to ITSM operations, ServiceNow integrations, Change Request Lifecycles, and Ansible Automation Platform.
Experience utilizing Poetry for dependency management and pre-commit hooks for code quality.
