About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Senior Flutter Developer to join our technology team in Malad, Mumbai.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Flutter and Dart, with proven experience in architecting, developing, optimizing, and maintaining high-performing, scalable mobile applications capable of handling high traffic, large datasets, and complex business requirements.
This role requires someone who goes beyond application development and takes ownership of application architecture, performance, security, coding standards, version control, scalability, compliance awareness, automation, and continuous technical improvement.
The candidate will work closely with internal development, UI/UX, backend, QA, product, and management teams to deliver robust and production-ready applications for Android and iOS.
Key Responsibilities1. Flutter & Mobile Application Development
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality cross-platform applications using Flutter and Dart.
- Build applications that are scalable, secure, reliable, and optimized for high traffic and heavy data usage.
- Develop reusable, modular, and maintainable components.
- Implement complex business logic while maintaining clean and efficient architecture.
- Work closely with backend developers for seamless API integration and data handling.
- Integrate third-party APIs, SDKs, payment gateways, analytics, notifications, and other external services.
- Ensure applications perform consistently across different devices, screen sizes, and operating-system versions.
2. Application Architecture & Scalability
- Design and implement scalable mobile application architecture suitable for large user bases and high-volume transactions.
- Select appropriate architectural patterns and state-management approaches based on project requirements.
- Design applications capable of efficiently handling large datasets, high API traffic, concurrent users, and complex workflows.
- Identify potential scalability and performance bottlenecks at the architecture and development stages.
- Ensure appropriate separation of presentation, business logic, data, and service layers.
- Develop reusable architecture and technical frameworks that can be leveraged across multiple applications.
3. Performance & High-Traffic Applications
- Optimize applications for speed, responsiveness, memory usage, battery consumption, and overall stability.
- Work on applications handling high traffic and large volumes of data.
- Optimize API calls, database interactions, caching, pagination, lazy loading, background processing, and data rendering.
- Identify and resolve application crashes, ANRs, memory leaks, UI jank, slow screen rendering, and performance bottlenecks.
- Conduct profiling and performance analysis using appropriate Flutter and platform-level tools.
- Ensure applications remain responsive and stable under heavy workloads.
4. UI/UX & Micro-Interactions
- Convert UI/UX designs into highly polished, responsive, and production-ready interfaces.
- Implement micro-animations, transitions, gestures, interactive elements, and smooth screen navigation to enhance the user experience.
- Maintain consistency in typography, spacing, layouts, components, and design systems.
- Work closely with UI/UX designers to improve usability, accessibility, responsiveness, and overall application experience.
- Ensure animations are performance-efficient and do not negatively impact application performance.
5. Security & Vulnerability Awareness
- Follow secure coding practices throughout the application development lifecycle.
- Identify and address security vulnerabilities, insecure API usage, data exposure, authentication issues, and dependency risks.
- Ensure sensitive information such as credentials, tokens, and user data is handled securely.
- Keep Flutter, Dart, third-party packages, SDKs, and dependencies updated to address known security vulnerabilities.
- Participate in security reviews and remediation of vulnerabilities identified through internal or external security assessments.
- Maintain awareness of mobile application security standards and emerging security threats.
6. Software Version Control & Development Practices
- Maintain disciplined use of Git and version-control systems such as GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket.
- Follow proper branching, merging, pull-request, tagging, release, and rollback strategies.
- Maintain clean and meaningful commit history.
- Conduct and participate in peer code reviews.
- Ensure code changes are properly documented and traceable.
- Establish and enforce development standards across projects and teams.
7. Coding Standards & Code Quality
- Write clean, efficient, readable, maintainable, and reusable code.
- Follow established Flutter/Dart coding standards and best practices.
- Establish and maintain coding guidelines, naming conventions, project structures, documentation standards, and review processes.
- Refactor legacy or inefficient code where required.
- Reduce technical debt and proactively identify areas requiring architectural or code-level improvement.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers on coding practices, architecture, debugging, and performance optimization.
8. Compliance, Upgrades & Technology Awareness
- Work with internal technical teams to ensure applications remain aligned with required platform, technology, security, and compliance standards.
- Maintain awareness of changes and upgrade requirements related to:
- Flutter and Dart versions
- Android and iOS versions
- Google Play Store and Apple App Store requirements
- Third-party SDKs and APIs
- Security vulnerabilities and patches
- Data and application-security requirements
- Plan and execute technology upgrades without compromising application stability.
- Coordinate with internal teams for vulnerability remediation, compliance requirements, technology upgrades, and release readiness.
- Proactively assess the impact of technology changes before implementation.
9. AI & Automation
- Explore and implement AI-assisted development and automation tools to improve development productivity and software quality.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive development, testing, documentation, monitoring, deployment, and support activities.
- Leverage AI tools responsibly for code generation, code review, debugging, testing, documentation, and development acceleration.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and determine their practical application within mobile application development.
- Contribute ideas for improving development workflows through automation.
10. Testing, Release & Production Support
- Develop applications with strong emphasis on quality and production stability.
- Write and maintain appropriate unit, widget, integration, and automated tests.
- Work closely with QA teams to resolve defects and improve application quality.
- Support application deployment and release processes for Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
- Monitor production issues and provide timely technical resolution.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.
- Support production releases, hotfixes, version upgrades, and application maintenance.
Required Technical Skills
- 4–7 years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on experience in Flutter.
- Advanced knowledge of Flutter and Dart.
- Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and design patterns.
- Experience building large-scale and high-performance applications.
- Experience handling high traffic, large datasets, complex API integrations, and performance optimization.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP/HTTPS and asynchronous programming.
- Strong experience with state management such as Bloc, Riverpod, Provider, GetX, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Git and software version-control practices.
- Experience with CI/CD and automated build and deployment processes.
- Strong understanding of debugging, profiling, memory management, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Firebase services such as Authentication, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config, etc.
- Experience integrating third-party SDKs and APIs.
- Good understanding of application security and vulnerability management.
- Experience with automated testing and quality-assurance practices.
- Familiarity with Android and iOS application lifecycle and release processes.
