Job Description – Head Accounts (R2R) – EPC Business
Designation: Senior Manager/ Chief Manager

Role Purpose
To lead the Record-to-Report (R2R) function for EPC business and group entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, POCM-based revenue recognition, timely closure, automation of finance processes, and strong governance aligned with IND AS, statutory requirements, and project-based accounting complexities.
Key Responsibilities
1. R2R Leadership & Financial Closure
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures for EPC Segment.
- Ensure project-wise profitability tracking, cost allocation, and margin analysis
- Maintain strong oversight on GL controls, reconciliations, and accounting policies
- Ensure compliance with IND AS, including consolidation adjustments and disclosures
2. EPC Accounting & POCM (Percentage of Completion Method)
- Lead POCM accounting for long-term EPC contracts including:
- Cost-to-cost method computation
- Revenue recognition and margin estimation
- Contract asset/liability accounting
- Review project budgets vs actuals, cost overruns, and provisioning
- Ensure robust control over:
- WIP accounting and aging
- Revenue reversals / revisions
- Expected loss provisioning (onerous contracts)
- Coordinate with project teams for accurate cost estimation and forecasting
3. MIS, Reporting & Financial Analytics
- Drive advanced MIS frameworks including:
- Project-wise dashboards
- Margin variance analysis
- Cash flow and working capital tracking
- Develop and present leadership MIS packs and analytics
- Standardize and automate monthly reporting packs for group and parent company
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling for EPC business
4. Automation & Finance Transformation
- Drive end-to-end finance automation initiatives, including:
- R2R process digitization
- Automated reconciliations and close processes
- Integration with project management systems
- Implement ERP enhancements (SAP/Oracle/Hyperion) for project accounting
- Build data-driven reporting using BI tools (Power BI / dashboards)
- Lead continuous process improvement and standardization initiatives
5. Audit, Compliance & Controls
- Lead statutory, internal, and IFC audits for EPC entities
- Ensure full compliance with:
- Companies Act, 2013
- IND AS (especially Ind AS 115 – Revenue)
- Review audit observations and drive closure
- Strengthen:
- Internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
- Segregation of Duties (SOD)
- Oversee internal audit programs and risk management framework
6. Tax & Regulatory Oversight
- Review Direct Tax accounting (TDS, deferred tax, MAT, assessments)
- Oversee GST and indirect tax accounting for EPC contracts
- Ensure proper tax treatment for milestone billing, retention, and advances
7. Stakeholder & Business Partnering
- Partner with project, commercial, and leadership teams
- Present financial insights to senior management and CFO office
- Guide finance teams across multiple EPC entities and project sites
- Drive financial discipline across project lifecycle
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA)
- 8–12 years of experience in R2R, EPC / Infrastructure / Project-based accounting
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- POCM accounting & Ind AS 115
- Consolidation and multi-entity accounting
- ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Hyperion)
- Experience in large, multi-location EPC or infrastructure businesses
- Exposure to finance transformation and automation projects is mandatory
