We are looking for a Website Design & Development Intern who can help improve the design, functionality, and overall user experience of our website. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys finding problems, suggesting solutions, and building features that make websites more engaging and easier to use.
Responsibilities
- Improve mobile and desktop website design and user experience.
- Redesign homepage, category pages, article pages, and navigation.
- Suggest and implement new website features and functionality.
- Improve content discovery, readability, and user engagement.
- Optimize ad placements while maintaining a good user experience.
- Work with WordPress themes, plugins, and website customization.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and design concepts for future updates.
- Research leading news websites and recommend improvements.
- Identify usability issues and propose practical solutions.
- Ensure all website elements are responsive and mobile-friendly.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to improve content presentation.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of WordPress.
- Understanding of UI/UX and website design principles.
- Familiarity with Figma, Canva, Adobe XD, or similar tools.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and website structure.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience designing or managing WordPress websites.
- Knowledge of news, media, or publishing websites.
- Understanding of Google Discover, Core Web Vitals, and website performance optimization.
- Basic JavaScript knowledge.
- Experience with WordPress page builders and plugins.
