Orbit XII Technologies is building innovative technology products across social platforms, robotics, and emerging technologies. As part of our robotics initiatives, we are developing Poppy, a next-generation robotic platform designed to assist, interact, and collaborate with people across various environments.
Role Overview
The Electronics Engineering Intern will work on the design, development, testing, and integration of electronic systems for Poppy. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about robotics, embedded systems, electronics design, IoT, automation, and intelligent hardware systems.
The intern will gain hands-on experience in developing real-world robotic systems while collaborating with software, AI, mechanical, and product teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectronics System Design
- Assist in designing electronic architectures for Poppy.
- Research and select sensors, microcontrollers, and electronic components.
- Develop circuit diagrams and hardware schematics.
- Support PCB design and component integration activities.
Embedded Systems Development
- Work with microcontrollers and development boards.
- Assist in programming and testing embedded systems.
- Support integration of sensors, actuators, motors, and communication modules.
- Help optimize hardware performance and reliability.
Sensor & Hardware Integration
- Integrate cameras, microphones, proximity sensors, motion sensors, and other robotic components.
- Test communication between hardware and software systems.
- Support troubleshooting and debugging activities.
- Assist in calibration and performance testing.
Robotics Prototyping
- Participate in building and testing hardware prototypes.
- Assist in assembling robotic subsystems.
- Evaluate prototype functionality and identify improvements.
- Document hardware configurations and specifications.
Power & Electrical Systems
- Assist in battery management and power distribution design.
- Analyze energy consumption and efficiency.
- Support charging system and power optimization initiatives.
- Ensure safe operation of electrical systems.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Conduct hardware testing and validation.
- Identify and document technical issues.
- Assist in developing testing procedures and checklists.
- Support reliability and performance improvements.
Research & Innovation
- Research emerging robotics technologies and components.
- Explore innovations in sensors, automation, and embedded systems.
- Provide recommendations for future product development.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge repositories.
Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed studies in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related fields.
- Strong interest in robotics and embedded systems.
- Basic understanding of electronic circuits and components.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Skills
- Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, STM32, or similar platforms.
- PCB design tools such as KiCad, Eagle, or Altium.
- Embedded programming in C, C++, or Python.
- Knowledge of sensors, actuators, motors, and communication protocols.
- Understanding of IoT, robotics, and automation systems.
- Experience with soldering, prototyping, and electronics testing.
