We are looking for a Security QA Intern who is passionate about software quality, application security, and identifying vulnerabilities before they impact users.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing of web and mobile applications to identify functional and security-related issues.
- Assist in conducting security assessments, vulnerability testing, and basic penetration testing activities.
- Test authentication, authorization, session management, and data protection mechanisms.
- Document bugs, vulnerabilities, and security findings with clear reproduction steps.
- Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure secure coding practices and application quality.
- Assist in reviewing application logs, error reports, and security alerts.
- Participate in the development and execution of QA test cases and security test plans.
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats and recommend security improvements.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of software testing principles and QA methodologies.
- Familiarity with web application security concepts such as OWASP Top 10.
- Knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, APIs, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Understanding of common security vulnerabilities such as XSS, SQL Injection, CSRF, and Broken Access Control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Postman, or similar testing tools.
- Basic understanding of cloud security concepts.
- Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of automation testing is a plus.
