Role Description The Diploma Trainee / Apprentice – Technical & Operations role is an on-site apprenticeship and trainee opportunity at Kaleesuwari Refinery Private Limited, Chennai. The selected candidates will receive practical exposure to refinery and manufacturing operations and will support day-to-day activities under the guidance of experienced engineers, technicians, and supervisors. The role may involve working in Q3 Laboratory, refinery operations, machine operations, packing, technical and maintenance functions, and other production-related activities. Responsibilities include supporting routine operational activities, assisting with machinery and equipment checks, following standard operating procedures, maintaining workplace safety and hygiene, supporting quality and food safety practices, and following 5S standards. Candidates will also gain practical knowledge of industrial operations, teamwork, workplace discipline, and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Diploma / Polytechnic qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Production Engineering from a recognized institution. Candidates from any batch are eligible to apply, and candidates who have recently cleared their arrears may also be considered. Freshers are welcome to apply. Candidates should demonstrate basic technical knowledge, analytical ability, problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and the ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures. Candidates should be willing to work on-site in a manufacturing/refinery environment and adapt to shift-based operations, wherever applicable. Good communication, teamwork, discipline, safety awareness, and basic computer literacy will be preferred.
Internship & Apprenticeship Opportunities
Eligible candidates may have the opportunity to undergo a 3-month paid internship under the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS). Based on individual performance and business requirements, candidates may subsequently be considered for the NAPS apprenticeship program. Under the NAPS program, the indicative progression includes ₹17,000 per month during the 1st year, ₹19,000 per month during the 2nd year, and an opportunity for on-roll employment with a salary of ₹23,000 per month in the 3rd year, subject to eligibility, performance, and company requirements. Additional benefits may include subsidized food facilities, accommodation/rent support up to ₹8,000 per month as applicable, uniform and safety shoes, leave entitlement of 1 day for every 20 working days, and career growth opportunities based on performance.
