About the Role
We are looking for a Software Tester with 0–1 year of experience who has a good understanding of Manual Testing and a strong interest in Automation Testing.
The candidate will be responsible for testing web-based applications, identifying and reporting defects, preparing test cases, performing regression testing, and developing basic automation scripts. The role requires someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and willing to learn and work with modern QA tools and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing of web applications and software products.
- Understand business and technical requirements and prepare test scenarios and test cases.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, UI, usability, and exploratory testing.
- Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate bug-tracking tools.
- Perform retesting and regression testing after bug fixes.
- Develop and maintain basic automation test scripts.
- Execute automated test cases and analyze test results.
- Participate in test planning and contribute to improving QA processes.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other teams to understand and resolve issues.
- Maintain proper documentation of test cases, test results, and defects.
- Ensure software releases meet defined quality standards.
Required Skills
- Good understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong knowledge of Manual Testing concepts and methodologies.
- Ability to write clear and effective test cases and test scenarios.
- Understanding of the Bug Life Cycle and defect reporting.
- Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, and UI testing.
- Basic to good understanding of Automation Testing concepts.
- Hands-on knowledge of automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
- Basic programming knowledge in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Basic understanding of API Testing using tools such as Postman is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of SQL/Database Testing is an advantage.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 0–1 year of relevant experience in software testing.
- Freshers with relevant academic projects, internships, or practical exposure to Manual and Automation Testing are encouraged to apply.
