We are hiring a talented Jewellery CAD Designer to create high-quality CAD designs for bespoke fine jewellery, with a strong focus on engagement rings and diamond jewellery.
You will be given inspiration images, sketches, stone layouts, measurements, and design notes, then turn them into accurate, production-ready CAD models. The designs must be beautiful, well-proportioned, and suitable for manufacturing.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience using Matrix and a good understanding of jewellery construction, diamond settings, ring proportions, and fine jewellery detailing.
This is a remote role based in India, with ongoing work available for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
Create detailed CAD models for rings and fine jewellery based on briefs, sketches, and reference images.
Design engagement rings, wedding rings, diamond rings, eternity bands, and bespoke jewellery pieces.
Build accurate, manufacturable CAD files with correct proportions, stone placement, setting details, galleries, prongs, bands, and side profiles.
Work with different ring styles, including solitaire, halo, hidden halo, pavé, trilogy, cathedral, bezel, cluster, and custom designs.
Prepare CAD models suitable for production, rendering, and client approval.
Make revisions based on feedback from the team.
Ensure designs are technically practical for casting, setting, polishing, and final manufacture.
Maintain a luxury, refined aesthetic across all designs.
Requirements
Strong experience using Matrix.
Good knowledge of Zbrush preferred but not necessary.
Experience creating CAD designs for fine jewellery, especially rings.
Strong understanding of diamond and gemstone settings, including prong, pavé, halo, bezel, channel, and hidden halo settings.
Ability to work from sketches, inspiration images, measurements, and design notes.
Good understanding of jewellery manufacturing requirements, including metal thickness, stone spacing, prong strength, casting considerations, and ring comfort.
Excellent attention to detail, symmetry, proportions, and finishing.
Ability to create elegant, luxury-level designs rather than basic CAD models.
Reliable communication and ability to work remotely.
Preferred Experience
Experience designing engagement rings and bridal jewellery.
Experience with bespoke or custom jewellery projects.
Ability to create realistic renders is helpful, but not required.
Understanding of diamonds, centre stones, side stones, melee stones, and carat sizing.
Experience preparing CAD files for casting and production.
