Job Summary
MsSql L3 Job Description • Clustering , Mirroring and Log shipping (Existing in current environment). • SSIS, SSAS and SSRS • Support all core DBA activities ( like installation (Including SQL Cluster) , Patching & Upgradation, RCA , Backup refresh and daily health check operations) • Design, Install, upgrade, administer, monitor, patch, and clone Oracle 9i/10g/11gR2 databases in RAC and non-RAC environments. • Design, Install, upgrade, administer, monitor, and patch SQL 2003/2005/2008/2012 databases in Cluster and non-cluster environments. • Optimizes system/database operations and resource utilization and performs system capacity analysis and planning. • Monitors and supports quarterly Oracle patches/upgrade and database configuration across environments. • Monitors and supports Microsoft patches/upgrade as needed and database configuration across environments. • Database performance tuning at system and application levels, for dev and production databases. • System level DBA functions including: set up replication, administer SQL cluster/Virtual server clusters • Proactively research and locate the necessary tools and processes to identify troublesome trends as they develop, and track problems to resolution. • Develop stored procedures and other database objects to implement some business logics in the database • Design and manage database security, roles, and profiles. • Design and Implement disaster recovery plans. • Develop scripts for database task scheduling, monitoring and maintenance. • Support all non-production databases including installation, upgrade, backup, recovery, database refresh, and multi-language support. • Proactively tune the performance of database. • Provide support and direction to developers with trouble-shooting and performance tuning as needed. • Maintain and develop backup/recovery process for Oracle databases for online and offline backups and disaster recovery • Create monitors and alerts for user sessions, concurrent processes, table extents and locks for production and test/development systems • Participate on weekly on-call duties on rotational basis. . • Follow change management process and participate in related meetings. • Create and maintain database architecture and standards following Oracle Best practices for physical structures, logical databases, user management. • Follow the existing processes for SOX/PCI databases. • Act as a database project leader for critical, time driven, visible projects • Integrate/collaborate with application development and support teams on various IT projects • Take ownership on primary database and lead by example. • Able to work extra/off hours as needs dictate.
