Senior VMware Engineer – Job Description\r\nPosition Overview: \r\nWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior VMware Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing VMware environments, including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and related technologies. The ideal candidate will also have experience with VMware Aria (formerly vRealize), leveraging it for performance monitoring, alerting automation, and reporting.\r\nKey Responsibilities: \r\n• Design, deploy, and maintain VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN, HPE SimpliVity, and Dell VxRail clusters in conjunction with other teams.\r\n• Monitor, optimize, and alert on the VMware infrastructure for performance, scalability, and reliability using Aria Operations, HPE OneView, and other tools.\r\n• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of VMware-related issues.\r\n• Ensure VMware best practices for security, backup, and disaster recovery.\r\n• Perform firmware and software upgrades for all VMware infrastructure.\r\n• Respond to incidents from business users as well as infrastructure monitors. Engage vendors for troubleshooting and resolve tickets in a timely manner to reduce impact to business operations. \r\n• Follow all change management processes for incident, problem, and change to ensure proper audit trail and compliance of all changes.\r\n• Utilize VMware Aria Operations (vRealize Operations Manager) to monitor and alert on compute, storage, and network performance, incidents, health checks, capacity planning, orchestration, log analysis, and network configuration.\r\n• Automate all common tasks using tools such as PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform, and vSphere APIs. \r\n• Ensure VMware environment aligns with security best practices adhering to regulatory compliance standards where required.\r\n• Conduct regular audits and enforce RBAC and access controls in vCenter.\r\n• Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), architecture diagrams, and maintain knowledge base articles for use by support teams.\r\nRequired Skills & Qualifications\r\n• 5+ years of experience in VMware engineering, including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi.\r\n• Strong expertise in VMware Aria Operations, Aria Automation, and Aria Log Insight.\r\n• Hands-on experience with PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform, or other automation tools.\r\n• Experience with Windows Server, Linux, and hybrid cloud environments (AWS and Azure).\r\n• Strong troubleshooting skills in networking, storage, and virtualization.\r\n• VMware VCP-DCV or VCAP certification is preferred.\r\n• Experience with hybrid cloud architecture is preferred.\r\n

3. Facilitate Knowledge Base Updates And Management, Contributing To The Training And Coaching Of Junior Analysts To Enhance Team Capabilities And Operational Efficiency.
4. Resolve Complex Service Tickets Within Agreed Slas By Collaborating With Cross-Functional Support Teams, Ensuring Seamless Operations And Maintaining A Robust Security Posture.
5. Enhance Customer Experience And Satisfaction By Achieving First Call Resolution, Minimizing Rejected Resolutions, And Addressing Security Threats Proactively.

1. In-Depth Proficiency In Vmware Vsphere And Vcenter
2. Solid Understanding Of Vmware Vsan And Vmware Srm
3. Experience With Aria Monitoring Tools And Sddc
4. Strong Analytical And Troubleshooting Skills
5. Familiarity With Itil Processes And Customer Service Best Practices
Other Requirements
1. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification is recommended .
2. ITIL Foundation certification is optional but candidate should have effective service management skills & practices
