Full job description

Hiring: Experienced Australian Accountant / Bookkeeper – Fully Remote

We are looking for an experienced Australian Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our team on a full-time, remote basis.

Please apply ONLY if you have hands-on experience in Australian accounting and can confidently manage a client file from day-to-day bookkeeping through to EOFY preparation.

Key Responsibilities

Complete day-to-day bookkeeping for Australian businesses
Bank, credit card and loan reconciliations
Accounts payable and accounts receivable
Correctly record and categorise transactions, including GST treatment
Payroll processing, STP and Superannuation
BAS/IAS preparation and reconciliations
Month-end and year-end reconciliations
Maintain and reconcile GST, PAYG, payroll and balance sheet accounts
Fixed asset register and depreciation
Prepare workpapers and supporting schedules
Assist with EOFY accounts and financial statement preparation
Prepare accounts to a standard ready for review and tax return preparation
Identify and resolve bookkeeping/accounting discrepancies independently
Work confidently across Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB

Mandatory Requirements

Previous Australian accounting experience is mandatory
Strong understanding of Australian bookkeeping and accounting practices from bookkeeping through to EOFY
Good knowledge of GST, BAS, PAYG, payroll, STP and Superannuation
Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
Xero and QuickBooks experience/certification required
Ability to manage client files independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and professional communication skills

Candidates with only general bookkeeping experience or no Australian accounting experience should not apply.

Working Hours

10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Australian time (some flexibility may be available by mutual arrangement)

Salary

Up to ₹60,000 per month, depending on Australian accounting experience and technical capability.
