Job Summary

The Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for creating a joyful, safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young learners. The teacher will focus on the holistic development of children through age-appropriate learning activities, play-way methods, classroom engagement, and value-based education.

Required Qualifications

Graduate in any discipline.
Montessori Training Certificate is mandatory.
B.Ed. is an added advantage.
Good command over spoken and written English.
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in pre-primary teaching preferred.
Freshers with excellent communication and child-handling skills may also apply.

Key Responsibilities:
Academic Responsibilities

Plan and conduct interactive and age-appropriate classroom sessions.
Teach foundational concepts including language readiness, numeracy, phonics, rhymes, storytelling, art, and motor skills.
Use play-way and activity-based teaching methodologies.
Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, classroom activities, and teaching aids.
Develop creativity, communication, social interaction, and confidence among children.
Conduct regular observations and assessments of student progress.
Ensure proper completion of classwork and activity records.

Classroom Management

Maintain a safe, caring, hygienic, and child-friendly classroom environment.
Ensure discipline through positive reinforcement and gentle guidance.
Monitor children’s behaviour, participation, and emotional well-being.
Encourage habits such as sharing, teamwork, cleanliness, and manners.

Student Development

Support the emotional, physical, cognitive, and social development of children.
Identify learning or behavioural concerns and report them to the coordinator.
Encourage participation in classroom and co-curricular activities.
Foster curiosity, imagination, and independent thinking.

Parent Communication

Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
Address parent concerns professionally and positively.

Administrative Responsibilities

Maintain attendance records, assessment files, and student portfolios.
Decorate classrooms and display student work creatively.
Participate in school functions, events, workshops, and training sessions.
Assist during celebrations, competitions, and school activities.
Follow school policies, academic guidelines, and reporting structures.

Required Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Warm, patient, and caring personality.
Creativity in storytelling, art, music, and classroom activities.
Strong classroom management abilities.
Ability to engage and motivate young learners.
Basic computer knowledge and smart classroom adaptability.
