Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant with hands-on experience in Logistics, Import & Export and Trading operations. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining complete and accurate books of accounts, recording day-to-day financial transactions, handling GST and E-Way Bills, maintaining import/export records, coordinating with logistics partners, and ensuring timely reconciliation and documentation.
The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of Tally/ERP, GST, E-Way Bills, invoicing, bank reconciliation, vendor/customer accounts and import-export documentation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts and accounting records.
- Record day-to-day transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, expenses, journal entries and contra entries.
- Maintain and verify cash book, bank book, purchase register, sales register and expense records.
- Maintain customer/vendor ledgers and ensure timely reconciliation.
- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Prepare and maintain transaction-wise supporting documents.
- Ensure all accounting entries are properly supported by invoices, receipts and other relevant documents.
- Conduct regular ledger scrutiny and account reconciliation.
- Maintain proper filing of physical and digital accounting records.
2. E-Way Bill & E-Invoice
- Generate, verify and maintain E-Way Bills for inward and outward movement of goods.
- Verify GSTIN, invoice number, invoice value, HSN, quantity, vehicle number and transporter details before generation.
- Monitor E-Way Bill validity and ensure timely updates/corrections wherever required.
- Maintain proper records of E-Way Bills, invoices, delivery challans and transport documents.
- Coordinate with logistics and dispatch teams for E-Way Bill requirements.
- Handle E-Invoice generation and related documentation, wherever applicable.
- Resolve discrepancies between invoices, E-Way Bills and actual movement of goods.
4. Import & Export Accounting
- Maintain complete accounting records for import and export transactions.
- Verify and record import/export invoices and related expenses.
- Maintain records of Bill of Entry (BOE), Shipping Bills, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bill of Lading/Airway Bill and other trade documents.
- Account for customs duty, IGST, freight, CHA charges, port charges and other import-related expenses.
- Maintain shipment-wise import costing / landed cost records.
- Coordinate with CHA, customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, transporters and banks.
- Reconcile import/export transactions with books of accounts and supporting documents.
- Maintain proper documentation for audit and statutory requirements.
- Prepare GST workings and maintain GST-related records.
- Assist in GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B preparation and filing.
- Reconcile GST records with books of accounts and purchase records.
- Verify Input Tax Credit (ITC) and GST invoices.
- Handle GST-related queries and documentation.
- Assist with TDS calculation, deduction and records.
- Maintain proper records for statutory and tax audits.
6. Banking & Reconciliation
- Prepare Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) on a regular basis.
- Record bank transactions and verify bank charges.
- Track customer receipts and vendor payments.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables.
- Coordinate with banks regarding payment/transaction-related documentation.
- Maintain proper records of all banking transactions.
3. MIS & Reporting
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly Accounts and MIS reports.
- Prepare outstanding receivables and payables reports.
- Prepare logistics and shipment-wise expense reports.
- Provide transaction and accounting data to management as required.
- Assist in monthly closing and preparation of financial statements.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and report them to management.
4. Documentation & Record Management
- Maintain systematic records of:
- Sales invoices
- Purchase invoices
- Payment receipts
- Bank transactions
- E-Way Bills
- E-Invoices
- Import/export documents
- Customs documents
- Freight and logistics bills
- Customer/vendor records
- GST/TDS records
- Ensure all documents are properly filed and readily available for audits.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Hands-on experience in Logistics / Import-Export / Trading company accounting.
- Practical knowledge of GST and E-Way Bills.
- Good understanding of Import & Export documentation.
- Knowledge of Bill of Entry, Shipping Bill, Commercial Invoice, Packing List and BL/AWB.
- Experience in freight, logistics and transportation accounting.
- Good knowledge of Bank Reconciliation and Ledger Reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime / Tally ERP / ERP accounting software.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Good analytical and numerical ability.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to independently manage day-to-day accounting activities.
Educational Qualification
- B.Com / M.Com / MBA – Finance or equivalent.
- CA Inter / CMA Inter will be an added advantage.

3–6 years of relevant experience in Accounts & Finance, preferably in:
- Logistics / Freight Forwarding
- Import & Export
- Trading
- Shipping
- Transport
- Customs / CHA
- Supply Chain
Experience in Import-Export and Logistics accounting will be preferred.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be someone who has practical, hands-on experience rather than only theoretical accounting knowledge.
The candidate should be capable of independently handling:
Day-to-day Accounts → Transactions → Invoicing → GST → E-Way Bills → Logistics Bills → Import/Export Accounting → Bank Reconciliation → Customer/Vendor Reconciliation → MIS → Documentation & Records.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
