Our client is an established and growing manufacturer of plastic and furniture products, with a strong presence in the institutional and retail market across Central India. The company supplies a wide range of products — including moulded furniture, planters, and institutional seating — to schools, colleges, plant nurseries, corporates, and retail networks. With a focus on quality, scalability, and customer relationships, the organisation is expanding its institutional sales force and seeks entrepreneurial self-starters who thrive in field roles. This is a startup-minded environment where ownership, initiative, and results are valued above hierarchy.
3. JOB PURPOSE / ROLE SUMMARY
The Institutional Sales Professional will serve as the primary field representative for the company's institutional and nursery segment — responsible for end-to-end ownership of the sales cycle across targeted verticals including schools, colleges, coaching institutes, educational trusts, and plant nurseries. The role demands a self-driven, well-groomed professional who can independently prospect, present, negotiate, and close bulk orders while building durable client relationships. Success in this role means consistent achievement of monthly and quarterly revenue targets, a growing pipeline of institutional accounts, and strong market presence in the assigned territory.
4. KRAS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Operational Deliverables
- Map and systematically visit schools, colleges, coaching centres, educational trusts, and plant nurseries across the assigned territory; build and maintain a live, structured account database with contact details, procurement timelines, and budget cycles.
- Meet and engage principals, management committees, purchase heads, and nursery owners to understand furniture and planter requirements, seasonal needs, and annual procurement budgets; convert insights into actionable sales proposals.
- Present the full product catalogue and physical samples at institutional offices; conduct persuasive product demos tailored to the buyer's specific use case and budget.
- Prepare accurate quotations and negotiate pricing for bulk and repeat orders; close deals with clear timelines, and ensure smooth coordination with logistics/dispatch for on-time delivery and client satisfaction.
- Actively track government and institutional tenders relevant to furniture and planters; coordinate with management to prepare compliant bid documentation and submit within deadlines.
- Drive retail sales initiatives alongside institutional outreach; identify hardware stores, garden centres, and local distributors to expand the company's retail footprint in the region.
- Consistently achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets for both institutional and retail segments; report variances and corrective actions proactively.
Stakeholder Management & Coordination
- Build a referral network through architects, interior consultants, and school infrastructure vendors active in the institutional segment to generate inbound leads.
- Submit structured weekly visit reports, pipeline trackers, and MIS updates to management; flag risks, pending orders, and escalations on time.
- Represent the organisation at education fairs, trade exhibitions, and nursery expos when required; maintain a professional brand image at all client touchpoints.
- Coordinate with internal teams (production, dispatch, accounts) for order fulfilment, delivery tracking, and post-sales support to ensure repeat business.
