About Soul Swara
Soul Swara is an online violin learning platform. We combine structured music education with technology, serving students across India and internationally (US/UK).
This is an education-led, student-facing role. You do not need to be a musician, but you should be comfortable working with learners, parents, teachers, and internal teams.
The Role
This is the person every student interacts with — from their first day to their hundredth class. You own the student experience: onboarding, attendance, follow-ups, rescheduling, retention, and making sure no one falls through the cracks.
On any given day you might be setting up a new student's WhatsApp group, following up with someone who missed two classes, coordinating a teacher substitution, or flagging an at-risk student before they drop off.
This role is closest to student coordination, customer success, and education operations — with strong ownership of parent/student communication.
This is not a sales role, not a teaching role, and not a back-office data entry role.
Reports to: Chief of Staff, Soul Swara
What you'll do:
- Onboard new students end-to-end (slot assignment, WhatsApp group, payment confirmation, Airtable update)
- Track daily attendance and follow up on absences
- Reach out to at-risk students with personal, structured follow-ups
- Coordinate with teachers on rescheduling, substitution requests, and class logistics
- Track student milestones within our course program
- Handle student and parent queries via WhatsApp and ManyChat — route new enquiries to sales, resolve student issues directly
- Communicate with international students (US/UK timezone, professional English)
- Use AI tools, Google Sheets, Airtable, WhatsApp, and Zoom/Meet as part of your daily workflow
- Keep every record clean and updated — if it is not updated, it did not happen
Work structure:
- Monday to Thursday: In-office (Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai)
- Friday: Remote
- Hours: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday: Not a regular working day. Rare student-support calls may come up during active admission periods, with prior notice.
- Sunday: Off
Compensation:
- Trial period (1 month): ₹22,000/month
- On confirmation: ₹25,000/month
- This role is expected to grow into a Student Success Team Lead position as Soul Swara scales, with corresponding growth in responsibilities and compensation.
You're a good fit if you are:
- Organised and detail-oriented — managing 100+ students means nothing can slip
- A natural follow-up person — persistent without being pushy
- Comfortable speaking to students and parents on calls in English; Tamil comfort is preferred
- Someone who has handled coordination, scheduling, or student/customer-facing ops before (2–3 years experience preferred)
- AI-tool friendly — you use ChatGPT, Google Sheets, or similar tools as part of your daily work
- Interested in growing into a team lead role — you think about building systems, not just following them
- Looking to grow with a small, fast-moving education team
You're not a fit if:
- You are looking for a purely back-office or data-entry role
- You are uncomfortable making calls or following up with students and parents
- You do not enjoy keeping records, trackers, and follow-ups clean
- You need a salary significantly above the stated band
- You need very fixed instructions for every situation — this role requires judgment
Tools you may use: WhatsApp, Google Sheets, Airtable, Zoom/Google Meet, ManyChat, Razorpay dashboard, Claude/AI tools
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
Benefits:
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Application Question(s):
- Are you comfortable making and receiving student/parent calls in English? Tamil comfort is preferred but not mandatory. (Yes/No)

- What is your current or most recent monthly take-home salary? If fresher, write "Fresher."
- A student has missed 3 classes in a row and hasn't replied to your last WhatsApp message. What would you do next — and at what point would you escalate to your manager? Answer in 2–3 sentences.
