Job Summary
The EHS Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) function across multiple commercial interior fit-out projects. The role ensures compliance with statutory regulations, client requirements, and company EHS standards while driving a proactive safety culture throughout the organization. The incumbent will oversee EHS strategy implementation, risk management, incident prevention, compliance audits, environmental management, emergency preparedness, and team development to achieve world-class safety performance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
EHS Leadership & Strategy
- Implement the organization's EHS policies, standards, and strategic initiatives across all assigned projects.
- Support the Head - EHS in developing and enhancing EHS management systems and programs.
- Establish safety objectives, KPIs, and performance improvement plans for projects.
- Promote a strong safety culture through leadership engagement and behavioral safety initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance across the organization.
EHS Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and labor regulations.
- Ensure adherence to client-specific EHS requirements and contractual obligations.
- Monitor implementation of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and company management systems.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits, inspections, and management reviews.
- Ensure timely closure of audit findings and corrective actions.
Risk Management
- Lead Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) processes across projects.
- Review Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements, and permit systems.
- Monitor high-risk construction and interior fit-out activities.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to eliminate or reduce workplace hazards.
Incident Management
- Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental events.
- Conduct root cause analysis and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor incident trends and develop preventive safety programs.
- Ensure statutory reporting and compliance for reportable incidents.
Environmental Management
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability requirements.
- Monitor waste management, pollution control, resource utilization, and environmental performance.
- Promote environmentally sustainable construction and fit-out practices.
- Drive environmental awareness initiatives across project teams.
Emergency Preparedness & Business Continuity
- Develop and implement emergency response and crisis management plans.
- Organize emergency drills, mock exercises, and evacuation programs.
- Ensure readiness of firefighting systems, emergency equipment, and medical response arrangements.
- Coordinate emergency response activities during incidents.
Training & Competency Development
- Develop and implement EHS training programs for employees, subcontractors, and management teams.
- Conduct leadership safety workshops, induction programs, and awareness campaigns.
- Assess competency requirements and support professional development of EHS personnel.
- Foster a culture of accountability and safety ownership.
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage Assistant EHS Managers, EHS Officers, Supervisors, and site safety teams.
- Allocate resources and provide guidance to ensure effective EHS implementation.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and mentoring of team members.
- Build a high-performing EHS organization aligned with business objectives.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare and present EHS performance reports, dashboards, and management reviews.
- Report EHS performance metrics to senior leadership and clients.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Operations Heads, HR, and business leaders on EHS matters.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
General Responsibilities
- Support organizational initiatives related to quality, sustainability, and operational excellence.
- Ensure EHS requirements are integrated into project planning and execution.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
- Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety, Fire & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent.
Experience
- 10–14 years of relevant EHS experience.
- Mandatory experience in Commercial Interior Fit-Out, Construction, Infrastructure, or Building Projects.
- Proven experience managing EHS functions across multiple projects and locations.
- Strong exposure to client-facing environments and large workforce management.
- Experience leading and developing EHS teams.
Certifications (Preferred)
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- OSHA Certification.
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor.
- ISO 14001 Lead/Internal Auditor.
- First Aid & CPR Certification.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
