We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead daily operations, streamline processes, manage cross-functional teams, and accelerate growth.
Role Overview
The COO will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end business operations including supply chain, logistics, customer experience, merchandising, finance coordination, compliance, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate is a data-driven operator with strong experience in e-commerce, retail, or marketplace operations.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with VPLAK’s long-term vision.
- Work closely with the CEO to drive overall company performance with clear OKRs and KPIs.
2. Operations & Process Excellence
- Optimize daily operations across procurement, warehousing, logistics, and customer service.
- Implement SOPs, process automation, and scalable workflows to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Improve order fulfilment speed, accuracy, and post-purchase experience.
3. Supply Chain & Vendor Management
- Oversee sourcing, vendor onboarding, negotiations, and inventory control.
- Drive partnerships with manufacturers, brands, and logistics providers.
- Maintain healthy inventory turnover and minimize stockouts/overstocks.
4. Customer Experience
- Build a frictionless customer journey from browsing to delivery and support.
- Lead customer service operations (call center, chat, support ticketing, CRM).
- Monitor NPS, return rates, cancellation rates, and customer satisfaction metrics.
5. Financial & Performance Management
- Manage operational budgets, revenue targets, and cost controls.
- Work with finance to optimize cash flow, payment cycles, and profitability.
- Prepare performance dashboards and monthly/quarterly business reviews.
6. Technology & Product Coordination
- Collaborate with tech/product teams to enhance platform performance, UX/UI, checkout, order tracking, and partner integrations.
- Identify opportunities for automation (ERP, WMS, CRM, analytics platforms).
7. Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and scale operational teams including supply chain, logistics, customer support, and vendor relations.
- Build a high-performance, accountable culture.
8. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and marketplace standards.
- Build risk mitigation strategies for logistics, payments, fraud, and data security.
Required QualificationsExperience
- 8–15+ years of experience in e-commerce, retail, supply chain, or operations leadership.
- Proven success in scaling operations and managing large teams.
- Experience in D2C, marketplace, or high-speed consumer business is preferred.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Expertise in supply chain, warehousing, logistics, and customer operations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with ERP, WMS, CRM, and analytics tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Education
- MBA or equivalent preferred (operations, supply chain, general management).
- Engineering background is a plus.
