Job description
1) Server Administration & Management
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
- Perform server hardening, patch management, and access control implementation.
- Manage file system permissions, quotas, and system-level configurations.
2) Backup, Recovery & Disaster Planning
- Perform and monitor system backups and periodic restore testing.
- Ensure integrity and reliability of MSSQL and MySQL database backups.
- Support disaster recovery planning and execution.
3) Server & Application Software Configuration
- Install and configure server and application software.
- Manage web hosting components such as IIS, Apache, Nginx, and LAMP/LEMP stacks.
- Install, configure, and maintain hosting control panels (WHM, cPanel, Plesk).
4) Database Administration
- Administer MSSQL and MySQL databases.
- Perform performance tuning, schema management, and access control.
- Monitor database health and optimize queries where required.
5) User Account & Identity Management
- Create, modify, and deprovision user accounts and roles.
- Conduct access audits and enforce security policies.
6) Virtualization & Cloud Infrastructure
- Deploy and manage virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware, KVM).
- Support on-premises and cloud-hosted VMs.
- Basic working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Ensure cost-effective utilization of cloud resources.
7) Ticket Ownership & SLA Compliance
- Own, respond to, and resolve L2/L3 support tickets, including escalations.
- Maintain accurate ticket updates and meet defined SLA timelines.
- Handle low-to-medium complexity incidents independently.
8) Infrastructure Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Monitor servers, logs, system metrics, and alerts.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks proactively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for high-priority incidents.
9) Security & Compliance
- Implement firewalls, patching, access control, and security policies.
- Monitor system vulnerabilities and intrusion detection logs.
- Ensure compliance with internal and customer security standards.
10) Documentation & Team Collaboration
- Document SOPs, troubleshooting steps, and infrastructure changes.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing and incident post-mortems.
- Work collaboratively with support, SRE, and DevOps teams.
Required Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in administering Windows Server environments.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Hyper-V.
- Hands-on experience with MSSQL and MySQL database administration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for L2/L3 level server issues.
- Experience in web hosting environments preferred.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware, KVM).
- Basic exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
