Full job description

Manager - Technology - Production SRE & Infrastructure

Location

Qualification Profile

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or in related field.

Experience

10–12 years in IT Infrastructure and Production Support, with at least 3 years in an SRE or Managerial role within the Banking, Financial Services, or Exchange domain. Technical Stack: Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix administration,Kafka, Virtualization, Containerisation, SAN Storage, and Networking. Experience with IBM DB2 and jms messaging systems is preferred. SRE Mindset: Proficiency in automation (Python/Ansible/Terraform) and monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana).

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Availability Assurance: Maintain a minimum 99.99% uptime for all market-facing platforms and core clearing services, ensuring uninterrupted trading operations
Reliability Engineering: Continuously optimize service-level objectives (SLOs) and error budgets to balance innovation and operational stability
Capacity & Scalability: Implement proactive capacity planning and scaling mechanisms to sustain peak market loads and reduce latency
Automated Failover: Design, test, and operationalize data center (DC) and disaster recovery (DR) failover automation in compliance with 2026 SEBI regulatory recovery mandates
DR Strategy Management: Ensure recovery time objective (RTO) and recovery point objective (RPO) targets are consistently achieved during DR drills and controlled events.
Chaos & Resilience Testing: Execute non-disruptive failover and chaos engineering exercises to validate platform resilience under stress
End-to-End Observability: Deploy full-stack monitoring covering infrastructure, applications, and transaction flows for real-time anomaly detection.
Predictive Insights: Leverage AI/ML-based analytics to forecast failures, mitigate resource saturation, and preserve market stability.
Continuous Optimization: Establish feedback loops from incident data to refine monitoring thresholds and alerting precision.
Crisis Leadership: Lead the complete incident lifecycle for P0/P1 events, ensuring rapid triage, containment, and stakeholder communication.
Operational Transparency: Deliver timely post-incident updates and service restoration metrics to internal and external stakeholders.
Blameless Postmortems: Conduct mandatory RCAs for every production disruption to identify process, design, or systemic weaknesses.
Preventive Remediation: Track and enforce closure of RCA action items to prevent recurrence and strengthen production readiness.
Chronic Issue Reduction: Maintain and prioritize the Problem Log to remediate persistent production risks and technical debt.
Systemic Stability: Drive long-term engineering improvements based on trend analysis of recurring incidents.
Performance Oversight: Govern OEM-managed services through strict KPI & SLA monitoring to ensure timely resolution and sustained system health.
Quality Assurance: Evaluate vendor outputs against engineering standards and operational excellence benchmarks.
Lifecycle Coordination: Manage end-to-end OEM activities including hardware/software patching, firmware upgrades, and escalation support.
Support Contract Governance: Negotiate and enforce mission-critical vendor contracts ensuring compliance with uptime and performance expectations.
SLA Enforcement: Continuously assess cost-effectiveness and SLA adherence, aligning vendor delivery to organizational performance and budget goals.
Compliance Adherence: Ensure production operations align with SEBI’s Cyber Security & Resilience Framework (CSCRF) and updated technology circulars.
Governance Tracking: Maintain audit trails for all production activities, including change management and configuration baselines.
Proactive Documentation: Prepare for internal and external IT governance audits through transparent reporting of change logs, DR drills, and access reviews.
Continuous Audit Cycle: Establish rolling audit-readiness programs ensuring year-round compliance readiness.
Track and close the vulnerability testing open points proactively before any escalation.
IAM Enforcement: Strengthen production security through strict Identity and Access Management (IAM) controls, ensuring least-privilege access.
Operational Risk Mitigation: Integrate security monitoring into production observability frameworks to detect anomalies and mitigate risks early.
