Job Description: Graphic Designer

Organization: JD Institute of Fashion Technology

Department: Marketing / Creative

Reporting To: Marketing Manager / Creative Head

Location: Hauz Khas, New Delhi

Experience: 2–3 Years (Graphic Design / Creative Design / Visual Communication preferred)

Role Overview

JD Institute of Fashion Technology is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to develop visually engaging designs for digital and print media. The role requires strong creative thinking, proficiency in industry-standard design software, an understanding of branding and visual communication, and the ability to translate concepts and briefs into compelling visual content.

The role combines creative design, branding, digital content creation, social media creatives, marketing collateral, and visual communication with strong ownership of design projects from concept to final execution.

Key Responsibilities1. Graphic Design & Creative Development

Create visually appealing designs for digital and print platforms
Develop creative concepts based on briefs, campaigns, and communication requirements
Design social media posts, stories, banners, advertisements, presentations, brochures, flyers, posters, and other marketing collaterals
Translate ideas and concepts into engaging visual content
Ensure designs are aligned with the institute's brand identity and communication guidelines
Work on multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

2. Branding & Visual Communication

Maintain consistency across all brand communication and marketing materials
Follow brand guidelines, typography, colour palettes, imagery, and visual standards
Develop creative layouts and visual concepts for campaigns and institutional communication
Ensure all designs effectively communicate the intended message to the target audience
Contribute creative ideas for improving the institute's overall visual presence

3. Digital & Social Media Design

Create engaging creatives for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other digital platforms
Develop campaign-specific creatives for admissions, events, workshops, courses, and institute activities
Design digital advertisements, promotional banners, emailers, and website graphics
Adapt designs into different sizes and formats as required by various digital platforms
Coordinate with the marketing and social media teams for timely delivery of creatives

4. Print & Marketing Collateral

Design brochures, prospectuses, standees, posters, certificates, invitations, and other print materials
Prepare artwork according to printing specifications and requirements
Coordinate with vendors/printers for design-related requirements and corrections
Ensure final artwork is accurate and print-ready
Make necessary design revisions based on feedback

5. Photography, Image & Content Support

Edit and enhance images for digital and print use
Select appropriate images, graphics, icons, and visual elements for design projects
Maintain an organized library of creative assets, images, templates, and design files
Support the marketing team with visual content requirements for campaigns and events
Explore new design trends and creative styles relevant to the fashion and education industry

6. Collaboration & Creative Coordination

Work closely with the Marketing, Admissions, Academic, and other internal teams to understand their design requirements
Coordinate with content writers, social media teams, photographers, and external vendors where required
Understand creative briefs and provide suitable design solutions
Participate in brainstorming sessions and campaign discussions
Incorporate feedback and revisions while maintaining design quality and timelines

7. File & Asset Management

Maintain organized folders for editable and final design files
Ensure proper naming, version control, and backup of creative assets
Maintain templates and reusable design elements for recurring requirements
Ensure all final files are delivered in the required formats and specifications
Maintain confidentiality of internal and campaign-related creative materials

8. Reporting & Process Discipline

Maintain a tracker of ongoing and completed design projects
Provide regular updates to the reporting manager on assigned projects
Ensure timely completion and delivery of creative requirements
Manage priorities effectively based on campaign deadlines and business requirements
Participate in creative reviews and incorporate feedback appropriately
Maintain discipline, punctuality, and adherence to institutional policies

Skills & Competencies

Strong creative and visual design skills
Good understanding of typography, colour theory, composition, layout, and visual hierarchy
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
Knowledge of Canva and other design tools will be an added advantage
Good understanding of social media design requirements and digital formats
Strong attention to detail and design consistency
Ability to understand creative briefs and convert them into effective visual concepts
Good communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong problem-solving and creative thinking abilities
Good understanding of branding and visual communication
Knowledge of basic print production and artwork specifications
Ability to accept feedback and work through multiple revisions

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree/diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Multimedia, Communication Design, or a related field
2–3 years of professional experience in Graphic Design or a similar creative role
Experience in the education, fashion, lifestyle, media, advertising, or creative industry will be preferred
Candidates must have a strong portfolio showcasing digital and print design work
