₹15,000/- per month (Deserving cases (basis experience) – 20000/- per month)

About the role

Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIMU) invites applications for Admissions Interns to support the Admissions team across the complete student engagement and admissions operations cycle. The role is not limited to tele-calling or lead follow-up. Interns will work across both front-office and back-office admissions activities, including prospective student engagement, CRM and lead management, email and chat support, application processing, document scrutiny and verification, BGV support, data management and day-to-day admissions coordination besides calling work.

Key responsibilities

1. Lead Management & Student Engagement (Calls/emails/WhatsApp/social media chats etc)-

Connect with prospective applicants through telephone calls and other approved communication channels.
Respond to applicant queries professionally, clearly and empathetically.
Follow up with leads and applicants as per defined timelines and processes.
Maintain accurate lead records, interaction history and follow-up status in the CRM.
Support lead conversion through timely, informative and persuasive communication.
Escalate complex or sensitive queries to the appropriate Admissions team member.

2. Email, Chat & Digital Communication

Monitor and respond to applicant emails, chats and online enquiries.
Ensure timely, accurate and professional responses across all applicant communication channels.
Use approved templates and communication guidelines while maintaining a personalised applicant experience.
Track unresolved queries and ensure appropriate closure within defined timelines.

3. Application & Back-Office Admissions Operations

Support processing and review of admission applications.
Scrutinize application forms and supporting documents for completeness, accuracy and consistency.
Identify missing, incomplete or inconsistent information and coordinate with applicants for clarification or correction.
Maintain application trackers, records and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely application processing.

4. Document Verification & BGV Support

Assist in document scrutiny and verification of applicant credentials and supporting documents.
Verify documents against defined admission requirements and process guidelines.
Support Background Verification (BGV) activities and maintain appropriate records.
Flag discrepancies, missing documents or exceptions for review by the Admissions team.
Maintain strict confidentiality and responsible handling of applicant information and documents.

5. CRM, Data & Reporting

Update and maintain applicant and lead information in CRM and designated systems.
Ensure data accuracy, completeness and timely updates.
Maintain daily/weekly trackers and prepare basic reports as required.
Support monitoring of lead movement, application status, follow-ups and pending actions.

6. Admissions Coordination & Operations

Provide day-to-day operational support to the Admissions team.
Coordinate with applicants and internal stakeholders for information, documentation and follow-ups.
Assist during admission campaigns, webinars, counselling sessions and other applicant engagement activities.
Undertake other admissions-related activities and projects assigned by the reporting manager.

Educational qualification

Management graduates preferred – BBA / MBA or equivalent qualifications.
Graduates from other disciplines with strong communication, analytical and organisational skills may also be considered.
Freshers are encouraged to apply.
Candidates must be willing to be located at Udaipur for the full duration of the internship.

Key skills & competencies

Excellent spoken and written English communication.
Strong telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
Pleasing personality, confident and professional interaction with prospective students and applicants.
High attention to detail, especially in application and document review.
Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Working knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook.
Comfortable working with CRM systems, databases, email and digital chat platforms.
Strong service orientation, patience, empathy and professionalism.
High level of integrity and confidentiality while handling applicant information.
Ability to work in a structured, process-driven and team-oriented environment.

Desirable experience

Prior exposure to admissions, student counselling, customer service, tele-calling, CRM or back-office operations is an advantage.
Experience in application processing, document verification or BGV-related activities will be an added advantage.

Internship exposure

The internship will provide hands-on exposure to Admissions & Lead Management, Student Engagement, CRM, Email & Chat Operations, Application Processing, Document Verification, BGV Support, Data Management and Institutional Operations.

Important note

This is a multi-dimensional Admissions Operations role and is not a tele-calling-only position. Selected interns will be expected to contribute across applicant-facing activities as well as detailed back-office work involving applications, emails, chats, documentation, verification, BGV and data management.
