Business Analyst – Financial Services Experience: 4–5+ Years

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with 4–5+ years of relevant experience, preferably within the financial services, banking, fintech, lending, insurance, or investment domain. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating business requirements into clear functional requirements and helping drive solutions from requirement gathering through implementation. Candidates must be willing to relocate to and work from Chennai.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders.
- Understand business processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
- Translate business requirements into detailed BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and functional specifications.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, requirement workshops, and process discussions.
- Create process flows, workflows, use cases, wireframes, and functional documentation as required.
- Analyze business and functional requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Support developers and QA teams by clarifying functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in UAT planning, execution, defect analysis, and resolution.
- Validate delivered solutions against business requirements.
- Identify process inefficiencies and opportunities for automation or optimization. - Prepare reports, dashboards, and analysis to support business decisions.
- Manage requirement changes and maintain proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of requirements. - Communicate project updates, risks, dependencies, and requirement-related issues to relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 4–5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the financial services domain.
- Strong understanding of financial products, processes, and business workflows.
- Excellent requirement-gathering and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, User Stories, Use Cases, Process Flows, and Acceptance Criteria.
- Good understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience working closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and Business teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical requirements.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio/Lucidchart or equivalent tools. Financial Domain Experience Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas will be preferred:
- Banking - Financial Services - FinTech - Payments - Lending / Loans - Insurance - Wealth Management - Investment / Capital Markets - Digital Banking - KYC / AML - Risk & Compliance - Core Banking Systems - Financial Reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience with SQL and data analysis. - Knowledge of APIs and basic understanding of system integrations.
- Experience working on digital transformation or process automation projects.
- Understanding of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management processes.
- Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or Agile/Scrum certifications are a plus. What
