Project Engineer – Water Treatment
Job Overview
As a Project Engineer – Water Treatment, you will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and managing water treatment projects from concept through commissioning. You will work closely with clients, consultants, vendors, site teams, and multidisciplinary engineering departments to ensure successful project delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1\. Project Planning & Execution
* Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
* Coordinate all phases of project execution from design to commissioning.
* Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
2\. Engineering & Design Coordination
* Lead and coordinate detailed engineering activities for water treatment systems.
* Review process designs including filtration, RO systems, chemical dosing, softening, UF, ETP/STP/WTP systems, and disinfection processes.
* Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil teams for integrated project execution.
3\. Technical Analysis & Problem Solving
* Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and technical evaluations.
* Analyze system performance and recommend process improvements or optimization measures.
* Resolve technical issues arising during design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages.
4\. Documentation & Reporting
* Prepare and review engineering drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, datasheets, and project reports.
* Maintain project documentation including progress reports, inspection records, and compliance documents.
5\. Procurement & Vendor Coordination
* Prepare RFQs and evaluate vendor quotations technically and commercially.
* Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of equipment and materials.
* Ensure procured items meet project specifications and quality standards.
6\. Site Supervision & Construction Management
* Supervise installation and construction activities at project sites.
* Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality and safety compliance.
* Conduct site inspections and monitor adherence to approved drawings and standards.
7\. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
* Lead testing, commissioning, and startup activities of water treatment plants.
* Conduct performance trials and ensure systems achieve design parameters.
* Support client training and final project handover activities.
8\. Client & Stakeholder Communication
* Act as a point of contact for clients regarding technical and project-related matters.
* Provide regular project updates and address client concerns effectively.
* Participate in project review meetings and technical discussions.
9\. Regulatory & Safety Compliance
* Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations, safety standards, and project specifications.
* Promote safe work practices and adherence to EHS policies at project sites.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
* 4+ years of experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, or related project execution.
* Strong knowledge of water treatment technologies and industrial processes.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Creo, or other 3D modeling/design software.
* Familiarity with project management practices and engineering documentation.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills.
* Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
* Willingness to travel to project sites and work in diverse environmental conditions.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
