Health Forward Foundation (HFF) in India is a nonprofit dedicated to driving meaningful, sustainable change—one step at a time. We are currently collaborating closely with grassroots communities across Himachal Pradesh.
Role Overview
As the Founder’s Office Intern, you will work directly with the Founder, receiving hands-on mentorship while gaining invaluable, real-world experience in the development sector. This is a dynamic, highly flexible role blending ground-level community immersion with strategic organizational support.
- Location: Dharamshala, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh (Candidates living in or near nearby rural areas are preferred).
- Type: Part-time / Flexible Field Role.
- Compensation: ₹7,000 – ₹10,000 per month (Depending on experience and performance). Travel support may be provided as needed.
- Growth Opportunity: High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time job offer at the end of the internship.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day tasks will be dynamic and adapt to current project needs, spanning across community engagement, operations, and research:
1. Community Engagement & Grassroots Outreach
- Actively listen and learn about local community needs, resources, culture, and engagement practices.
- Support ground-level community initiatives, outreach campaigns, and public engagement activities.
- Assist in organizing, coordinating, and participating in community meetings and local events.
2. Strategy & Executive Support
- Collaborate directly with HFF senior leadership, local stakeholders, and volunteers to drive organizational goals.
- Brainstorm and contribute fresh ideas to improve local participation and program effectiveness.
- Assist in creating awareness via local communication channels, social media, and storytelling.
3. Documentation & Special Projects
- Maintain accurate records, community feedback loops, and project-related documentation.
- Tackle diverse tasks assigned by the supervisor, which may include research, baseline data collection, testing, analysis, and reporting.
Who Are We Looking For?
Qualifications & Education
- Students: Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in any discipline (all fields of study are welcome).
- Professionals: Any working professional with a background or strong interest in social impact/public health who wants to support local initiatives.
Core Competencies
- Language: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Hindi and English (Local Pahari dialects are a huge plus).
- Skills: Strong research, problem-solving abilities, and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Mindset: A deep passion for social impact, community development, or public health, combined with an eagerness to learn about community-led models.
- Ideal Candidate: This role is perfect for an entrepreneurial, self-motivated individual who is excited to work closely under the wing of a nonprofit Founder and experience grassroots development firsthand.
