RESTAURANT CAPTAIN – JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

The Restaurant Captain will be responsible for supervising day-to-day restaurant service, ensuring excellent guest experience, maintaining service standards, and effectively coordinating with the kitchen and F&B team. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, a professional personality, and strong knowledge of restaurant service operations.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily restaurant operations and ensure smooth service.
Welcome and assist guests in a warm and professional manner.
Ensure proper table setup, service sequence, and restaurant readiness.
Take food and beverage orders accurately and coordinate with the kitchen.
Monitor food and beverage service to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints professionally.
Ensure restaurant SOPs and service standards are followed.
Coordinate closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth order flow.
Guide and supervise waiters, stewards, and other service team members.
Allocate sections and responsibilities to service staff.
Train new team members on service procedures, menu knowledge, grooming, and guest handling.
Maintain restaurant cleanliness, hygiene, and overall presentation.
Ensure proper billing and coordination with the cashier when required.
Monitor table turnover and ensure efficient service during peak hours.
Upsell food and beverage items whenever appropriate.
Check guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
Assist the Restaurant Manager in daily operations and reporting.
Maintain discipline, grooming, punctuality, and professional conduct of the team.

Required Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Restaurant Captain / Senior Steward / Senior Waiter in a reputed restaurant.
Candidates with experience in Fine-Dining, Premium Casual Dining, or Upscale Restaurants will be preferred.
Experience in Ahmedabad restaurant operations will be an added advantage.

Required Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong guest-handling skills.
Good knowledge of food and beverage service.
Basic knowledge of menu items and ingredients.
Strong team coordination and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure during busy operations.
Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Professional grooming and positive attitude.
Ability to upsell food and beverage items.
Basic knowledge of POS and billing systems will be an advantage.

Qualification

12th Pass / Diploma / Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
Relevant restaurant service experience will be considered.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be well-groomed, confident, guest-oriented, and service-focused, with the ability to lead the service team and ensure a smooth and memorable dining experience for every guest.

Preference: Candidates with experience in reputed Fine-Dining or Premium Restaurants in Ahmedabad will be preferred.

Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
