The Senior Merchandiser – Export Marketing is responsible for developing and managing export business for textile made-up articles, including home textiles, bedding products, mattress protectors, pillow covers, cushions, quilts, comforters, table linen, kitchen linen, curtains, and other textile products. The role involves handling customer inquiries, product development, costing, merchandising, production coordination, quality compliance, export documentation, and timely shipment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesExport Business Development
- Identify and develop new overseas buyers, importers, retailers, distributors, and sourcing agents.
- Generate export business through trade fairs, online B2B platforms, customer visits, and market research.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing international customers.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual export sales targets.
- Explore new international markets and business opportunities.
Customer Relationship Management
- Handle customer inquiries professionally and provide prompt responses.
- Prepare quotations, product presentations, and commercial offers.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions.
- Coordinate product developments according to customer specifications.
- Ensure timely communication regarding order status, approvals, and shipment schedules.
- Resolve customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
Merchandising & Order Management
- Manage the complete order lifecycle from inquiry to final shipment.
- Prepare product costing and price calculations.
- Coordinate sampling, proto samples, fit samples, PP samples, and approval samples.
- Confirm purchase orders and maintain merchandising records.
- Monitor production timelines and ensure timely execution.
- Track raw material availability and production planning.
- Coordinate packaging, labeling, barcode, carton marking, and customer-specific requirements.
Product Development
- Coordinate with design, sampling, and production teams for new developments.
- Develop innovative textile made-up products according to international market trends.
- Suggest suitable fabrics, constructions, finishes, and value-added treatments.
- Maintain sample libraries and product catalogs.
Production Coordination
- Coordinate with Cutting, Stitching, Quilting, Dyeing, Printing, Finishing, Packing, Quality Assurance, Planning, and Dispatch departments.
- Ensure production follows approved specifications and delivery schedules.
- Resolve production issues affecting quality or shipment timelines.
- Monitor order progress and minimize delays.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure products meet buyer specifications and international quality standards.
- Coordinate inspections (inline, final, and pre-shipment).
- Ensure compliance with buyer requirements and certifications.
- Work closely with QA teams to minimize rejections and customer claims.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor international textile and home furnishing market trends.
- Analyze competitor products, pricing, and customer preferences.
- Identify opportunities for new product categories and value-added products.
Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly order status reports.
- Maintain customer records, costing sheets, and shipment schedules.
- Submit sales forecasts and business development reports to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, Apparel Manufacturing, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in export merchandising and international marketing of textile made-up articles or garments products
- Experience handling buyers from Europe, the USA, Australia, the Middle East, and other global markets.
- Strong knowledge of home textile products and export merchandising processes.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
