Position Title: Facility Supervisor
Department: Administration / Facility Management
Reporting To: Facility Manager / Hospital Administrator / COO
Location: DRGMCH, Amravati
Job Summary
The Facility Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the hospital infrastructure and support services. The role involves supervising housekeeping, security, maintenance, biomedical coordination, utility management, waste management, vendor services, and ensuring compliance with healthcare facility standards to provide a safe and efficient environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
A. Facility Operations Management
- Supervise day-to-day facility operations across hospital buildings and premises.
- Ensure uninterrupted functioning of all non-clinical support services.
- Conduct regular inspections of hospital infrastructure and facilities.
- Monitor facility-related complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate with various departments to address facility requirements.
B. Maintenance & Engineering Coordination
- Monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Coordinate repairs of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, DG sets, lifts, fire systems, and civil works.
- Ensure maintenance schedules are followed as per hospital standards.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and service reports.
- Escalate major repair requirements to management.
C. Housekeeping Supervision
- Supervise housekeeping personnel and outsourced housekeeping services.
- Ensure cleanliness of wards, ICUs, OPDs, OT complexes, public areas, hostels, and administrative offices.
- Monitor infection control practices in coordination with the Infection Control Team.
- Conduct routine cleanliness audits and inspections.
- Ensure adequate availability of cleaning materials and equipment.
D. Attendance presentees (Nurses / Medical / Para-medical) staff on the floor
- Supervise deployment schedules.
- Monitor hospital entry and exit points.
- Ensure visitor management and access control procedures are followed.
- Coordinate emergency responses related to security incidents.
- Investigate and report security breaches or unusual incidents.
E. Biomedical & Equipment Coordination
- Coordinate with biomedical engineering teams regarding equipment movement and maintenance.
- Assist in tracking facility-related equipment issues.
- Ensure proper infrastructure support for installation of medical equipment.
F. Utility Management
- Monitor electricity, water supply, medical gas systems, generators, and HVAC operations.
- Ensure uninterrupted utility services throughout the hospital.
- Track utility consumption and suggest cost-saving measures.
- Coordinate emergency restoration during utility failures.
G. Waste Management & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure proper segregation and disposal of biomedical waste.
- Monitor compliance with Biomedical Waste Management Rules.
- Coordinate with authorized waste disposal agencies.
- Maintain waste management records and documentation.
H. Vendor & Contractor Management
- Supervise outsourced service providers and contractors.
- Monitor service quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Verify completion of assigned work before certification.
- Maintain vendor performance records.
I. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NABH, Fire Safety, Pollution Control, and statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Participate in fire drills and emergency preparedness activities.
- Ensure availability and maintenance of fire-fighting equipment.
- Report safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
J. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain facility maintenance logs and inspection records.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly facility reports.
- Record complaints, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
- Support audits and accreditation assessments.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Facility Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Certification in Facility Management, Safety, or Hospital Administration will be preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 1–5 years of experience in facility management.
- Experience in hospitals, healthcare institutions, medical colleges, or large commercial facilities preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of hospital facility operations.
- Understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, and civil maintenance.
- Familiarity with NABH standards and hospital compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office and facility management software.
- Vendor and contractor management skills.
- Responsible for daily supervision of facility operations.
- Authorized to allocate work among housekeeping, security, and maintenance staff.
- Responsible for reporting infrastructure deficiencies and safety risks.
- Accountable for maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient hospital environment.
Pay: ₹10,832.58 - ₹29,174.29 per month
