Legal Counsel (Sr Mngr/AVP)

JOB PURPOSE

Incre Increasing pool in collections demands similar focus on legal initiatives and actions which is at present not structured. This position will provide greater insight and action into the various legal recourse available for recovery.

1 PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Legal Process note

Devising legal process note

Time to time Updation/Changes, depending on changing Legal environment and portfolio dynamics, in tandem with organizational goals.

2. Hiring/Appointing Legal Vendors:

Hiring/Appointment of legal Vendors (Advocates)

Training and continuousmonitoring the performance and capacity of vendors.

3. Single point of contact for any Legal guidance

Single point of contact from the legal department for legal advisory and support for Collections and Recoveries.

Coordination, appropriate support, and management of external legal vendors for timely delivery of work.

4. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory framework and internal policies

Ensure that all agreements are in line with the regulatory compliances and internal policies and revising them as per regulatory or internal policy changes, from time to time.

Responding to all compliance and regulatory issues / queries in a timely and appropriate manner and ensuring appropriate changes in documents.

5. MIS

Preparing, updating and communicating regular MIS and keeping record of all legal actions/suits From and Against Customers pertaining to Consumer Finance

6. Initiating and Defending on Legal front

§ Initiating the legal actions according to approved Legal Process note.

§ Keeping record of any deviation from Legal process note for initiating legal action against customers.

D Defending DMI in the litigation matters with respect to Consumer cases, Recovery matters (NCLT, RERA), Arbitration proceedings, Sec 138 NA and civil and criminal matters.

a) Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Law – Ll.B/ B.A Ll.B/ B.Com Ll.B

b) Work Experience

10+ years of total experience in Legal Department (Consumer Loans).
