Need a Laser Cutting Machine Programmer for toy manufacturing industry who can develops, optimizes, and nests CNC programs using CAD/CAM software to cut metal parts based on blueprints, focusing on material efficiency and precision. Key responsibilities include creating nesting layouts, setting machine parameters (power, speed, gas), troubleshooting programs, and maintaining safety standards.
Job Title: Laser Machine Programmer / CNC Laser Programmer
Key Responsibilities
- CAD/CAM Programming: Interpret engineering blueprints, sketches, and specifications to create 2D/3D models and generate CNC cutting paths.
- Nesting & Optimization: Utilize nesting software (e.g., CypCut, BySoft, AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to arrange parts efficiently to minimize material scrap.
- Machine Setup & Parameters: Determine appropriate laser settings—including power, speed, gas pressure, and focus—based on material type (MS, SS, Aluminum) and thickness.
- Quality Control & Inspection: Perform first-piece inspection using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers) to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve programming errors, nesting issues, or machine malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance on laser machines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and CNC laser cutting software.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience operating or programming fiber/CO2 laser cutting machines (e.g., Trumpf, Bystronic, HSG).
- Education: Diploma/ITI or B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Production Engineering or equivalent technical training.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Material Knowledge: Solid understanding of fabrication processes.
Physical Demands & Environment
- Frequently exposed to noise, heat, cold, and airborne particles.
- Must be able to work in a, often, fast-paced production environment.
