Primary Key Responsibilities (Top 3-5 KRA)
Team Leadership & People Development

Lead allocated workstreams relating to financial reporting, process transformation, automation and actuarial reporting enhancements, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery within agreed frameworks and procedures.

Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Provide actuarial and financial reporting SME input to support developers and technology teams in understanding business requirements, while contributing to design discussions, process redesign and implementation planning.

Support hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives to build strong technical and domain expertise within the team
Transformation Project Delivery

Plan and execute testing of newly developed tools, models and reporting processes.
-
Provide detailed commentary on changes from existing tools, highlighting efficiencies, automations, and improved controls.

Balance competing demands, ensuring timely updates and visibility, and escalate prioritisation decisions as needed.
-
Deliver clearly defined outputs within agreed timescales, adhering to established frameworks and procedures.

Review testing outputs, deliver appropriate testing and control documents, and maintain an audit trail and version control for spreadsheet controls

Ensure up-to-date documentation and checklists for implemented processes, supporting future product enhancements.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance

Active stakeholder engagement at every gate way of the AMVC control framework which includes presenting understanding of the requirements, mock ups , design plan and final delivery of the project.

Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification
Knowledge & Skills (Must Have) :

Strong financial reporting experience.

Experience in actuarial process transformation or reporting process redesign.

Experience supervising or managing junior team members and owning allocated workstreams.

Strong delivery and governance focus.

Experience independently testing new tools, models or processes.

Good understanding of actuarial reporting processes, controls and documentation requirements.

Experience of Excel, Python, Workflow Management / Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Business Intelligence / visualisation tools.

Good written communication skills to produce meaningful documentation of developments, testing and controls.

Knowledge & Skills (Additional) :

Experience:

7-10 years of relevant actuarial experience, preferably including financial reporting, valuation, transformation or automation experience.

Experience supervising junior team members or managing small workstreams.

Experience working with cross-functional teams across actuarial, finance, technology and business areas.
Educational Qualification:
-
Graduate in any discipline / Masters in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, MBA or equivalent.

Student member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and/or Institute of Actuaries of India.
-
Good progress in actuarial exams, preferably with 6-12 exams cleared.

Actively studying for actuarial exams and making satisfactory progress in line with the Mumbai Actuarial Study Support Policy.
